Can players be "locked" into a specific loot table?
Since I started running HM VoG a few dozen times, I've only seen 1 or 2 weapons drop, which is fine. What's strange is that I get the exact same thing every single run with only 2 exceptions.

Players can say RNG all you like, but when 95% of your runs yield the exact same things over and over again, you gotta wonder if the game tends to lock players into a single set of items, and eschews the rest.
Does anyone else experience this?

lol you wouldn't complain now if you had played since day 1 took people months just to hit lvl 30 and weapons were actually a rarity

2 RepliesI've had this exact theory for months now, I've had over 9 vex drops, countless xlass items from both raids, buddie of mine with 1300 hours only had 1 vex no hunter cloak from either raid, I can't get Hazen vengeance or hunger but got multiple corrective measure and iryuts

I agree. I get rocket launchers constantly. 8 gally, 6 dragons breath, I lost count of how many truths I broke down. But ive never gotten one exotic auto rifle. I always felt that when I made my account they weighted me towards rocket launchers. My clan mates get a kick out of it but it is very frustrating after a while.

had all vog weapons far fast and got all crota weapons after 2weeks hard mode was up had all exotics multiple times still gjalla missing

2 light of the abyss 2 black hammers No hunger or song. Have said that I've been running HM every week instead of NM. I need to start NM again.

But I got every exotic weapon so far beside the Gjallahorn. That´s why it is a payne in the axx to kill crota on normal three times a week whithout getting the hunger. The Necro I got after the third hardmode kill. But Hunger? No way.

The last 5 times I did VOG on hard I got the same crap. A helmet and Aspect of glass. I'm done playing that raid its pointless

I felt this way for the longest time. Took a week break, came back and got fatebringer, song of ir yut and Gjallarhorn in one week. Three guns I've been grinding to get for an eternity.

2 RepliesSo, a long time ago I saw a post explaining this: Software RNG differs from hardware RNG in that over various users software RNG is random without patterns but per user patterns can be developed, where as hardware RNG differs per user. In other words, Destiny uses a central software RNG meaning that it is random over the entire database of guardians, however, it is not 100% random per guardian, so patterns can develop per guardian. The only way to ensure 100% RNG per guardian would be to have a RNG software per guardian or per game system (which would work 100% with 1 guardian or a bit less for 2-3). That is the best I understood it. So yes, there are patterns, but they are still long patterns and should eventually result in each guardians theoretically having access to every weapon and armor dropping for them.

1 ReplyI have every raid weapon in each raid but the Black Hammer... yes, I have a Necrochasm... No, RNG does not want me to have that sniper rifle. I completely agree with you on that one, once you get an item its drop rate seems to take over the entire planet. I have obtained 10 Word of Crota hand cannons, just got my first Fang drop a couple days ago (I about sh*t myself when I got it).

I don't know if this is a glitch or pure coincidence. I seem to get [hunter helm; timebreaker; (vision/heavy weapon] almost everytime in hard VoG aethon. I've recieved the vex a few times. Note, I have 2 hunters and the drops are nearly identical between the two so if it's a table drop lock I'm assuming it's per account and not character l.

I've noticed this as well. I've gotten Truth 3 weeks in a row from doing NFs on my 3 characters (already had 2 from before). Also, I've gotten No Land Beyond at least twice from the Deathsinger, the Oversoul more often than not, and the Fang every time but twice when beating Crota. Still no Abyss Defiant tho. It's the 1 raid weapon I'm missing (and the one I want the most, of course), even have everything from the VoG. I've heard several other ppl saying the same thing but with different weapons or armor. There's definitely something to this, just not sure exactly what.
