Can players be "locked" into a specific loot table?
Since I started running HM VoG a few dozen times, I've only seen 1 or 2 weapons drop, which is fine. What's strange is that I get the exact same thing every single run with only 2 exceptions.

Players can say RNG all you like, but when 95% of your runs yield the exact same things over and over again, you gotta wonder if the game tends to lock players into a single set of items, and eschews the rest.
Does anyone else experience this?

1 ReplyYeah, I had dragons breath during a crota run. The team had to leave so I joined someone's nightfall and got another dragons breath.

Been thinking about this for a while. Every time I do the Vault of glass my cousin gets all energy's and I always get all Shard's. Every time.

2 RepliesYes, they follow the same aspect as monster hunter did with its charm loot table. It's the time you created your character. You CAN still access all items but your percentages for ones you have never received are lower. Source: I have played this game since launch and I have done all you can, to understand how the loot system works (extremely stupid)

Kind of. I received hunger of crota as far as weapons go and nothing but armor from crota end normal. When I was doing vog I constantly go weapons but never got any armor until my 13th run no Bs. So yes it's very possible. Note. I got fang from beating crota on hard.

When running CE hard i Always (and i mean every single time) get fang of ir yut and a friend always gets word of crota...it took 500 plus hrs for a gally to drop on a tuesday nightfall...i got my 2nd saturday that same week from crota...so i think there may be something to this

2 RepliesThats funny, i think the same thing..i think when you sign up, your put in a spot to get a certain type of loot drops..i rarely get scout rifles, but always get auto, rarely lmg, always rockets, etc..and ive noticed my friends get the opposite...rng within a bubble of my pre selected slot...

That's interesting. I've gotten 3 Mida multi-tools to drop. I like the Mida, but it would be nice to get something different every so often

4 RepliesI feel you. Every single time I finish atheon I get the helmet, aspect of glass, and shards. There is no exception I might get something different on gatekeeper or Templar but on atheon is always the same things. Good post

1 ReplyIt took me over 20 vog runs to get my first piece of armour on my hunter, with my titan i got full raid gear on 2 runs and with my warlock i got full raid gear on 1 run.... that's RNG.

5 RepliesThe thing is this, say for example there are a select group of people. Let's say 100. Every week these people will receive one card, a blue or red one. The number of colored cards are always randomized. So say the first week there will be 60 red and 40 blue, then next week there will be 20 blue and 80 red. Statistically speaking, there will always be a small group of people who only receive blue and another who only receive red.

I have had identical loot a couple of weeks in the VoG, all the way down to the exotic look (Thruth and Vex) so I do think there are predefined loot tables. it's almost impossible to get the exact same loot from each step in the VoG two weeks straight

Started from scratch, 4 G-Horns in 3 weeks after i wiped my 3 Hunters and all of my stuff!! Starting to get annoying....

1 ReplyYes because I'm sure the conversation went like this. "Hey so we're developing this RNG system so that you get a random roll at equipment. It has all these checking systems so you only roll based on what that loot table is. You know what we should do? Once a player is created they are either on our 'cool dudes' list where they get everything and good rolls all the time or our 'lameo' list where they get bad rolls every time no matter what they do or how much they play. Yeah, let's discriminate. Discriminating is sweet"

lol you wouldn't complain now if you had played since day 1 took people months just to hit lvl 30 and weapons were actually a rarity
