I am usually a PvP player most of the time. The game play is fun, and the lack of predictability in my opponents is a major factor for me.
Yesterday, however, I finally got to try my hand at the Raids from start to finish. They were awesome to say the least! All the puzzle solving was very fun, and the strategy and teamwork needed to finish was reminiscent of my PvP experience.
The major thing that helped me get into the Raids was the team I was with. I don't remember their names, but they got rid of all of my excuses. As soon as I told them I didn't know what I was doing (relic, portals, oracles), they had me on the relic every time, going into portals every time. It was intimidating at first, but after doing all the relic handling for the whole raid, I am confident enough to run the relic whenever.
So if I could sum this all up, it would be to say Thank you. Thank you to all the PLAYERS who have the Patience and Time to help others learn. It would be easier and save more time to boot inexperienced players, but you take the time to teach. You all are the real Guardians.
Thank You!
Because some people keep inquiring, my drops were: FATEBRINGER, Corrective Measure, and Timebreaker Sparrow. The rest was shards. I also found the players that helped me in my recent raid parties, with the help from a few of you!

Bs you ran a total of 15 raids.

Stop making these posts for likes etc. I have seen so many of them now.

Nice rewards man!! I met a dude on patrol. He was level 13. He invited me, and I accepted. I played with him the whole day actually and when we were finished he was lvl 27 on his first character. I felt good for helping him out, though he is -blam!-ED when playing alone now lol 😁
-
Very nice rewards for your first run, good luck putting down that fatebringer
-
Add me xb one, always happy to run newbs through raids. -blam!- the haters.
-
can't wait to do that when i have some time off to try the raid too :) Really happy to see that there are some nice people on this game despite how toxic the forums can look

It's rewarding to see new players experience the raids for the first time. If any new raiders are looking for an experienced Guardian on XBOX One to explain mechanics and help out after 10pm central time on weekdays, let me know.

Edited by Highside: 7/7/2015 2:36:00 AMAfter acquiring everything (besides trials gear) in the game, theres really nothing as exciting as seeing someone get their first raid gear.

well said.

What Xbox console you on? I could help you again another time
-
Good work. I have none of that loot except for Timebreaker and shards
-
I wish I had your luck with drops my first time through.

I'm not part of the original generation of destiny players, and I've never done a raid. Since you understand my problem, would you like to help a fellow Guardian out?
-
I haven't completed VoG.
-
I did the same thing for a guy I met on the forums who had never beaten Crota and instead of us cheering the bridge or me soloing the maze and taking sword to get it done quick we did it the right way. No one died at the maze we all made it and we did the bridge the old fashion way and let him run sword even though he had no mike and couldn't hear us. It worked eventually. But he now knows how to run sword

How much cheese was eaten that day?

Had the same experience a few weeks ago. Decided to get back into destiny with house of wolves and have really enjoyed working with the community. You guys are great!!
-
I did my first raid a couple months ago. Im a day one player btw, I appreciate your post guardian. :)

This is post is a diamond in the rough on these posts. Really give you a sense of a healthy community within the game. Glad you enjoyed VOG. It is an awesome raid and truly is a better experience. If you haven't tried crota out I suggest you do though. And if you get a chance to run sword, do it!

Cool man!

I've played Destiny since launch, and I haven't completed Vault of Glass yet. Sadly, I don't know how to complete the vault of glass. And I am in search for teammates on Xbox 360. If anyone can help, it would mean a lot to me, literaly.

Wait. What console were you on?
-
Good for you, OP! Personally, I moved from PvE to PvP. The raids and strikes were alright, but it just never left me fully satisfied after months of doing them over and over.
-
If you're on Xbox1 hit me up username same as gamertag if you want to do some raiding offer extends to all on Xbox 1

Congrats, when you run thru Crotas End make sure you do it legit. I was forced into the cheese way my first time and it ruined my experience and now I hate doing Crotas End.
