So much KDR butthurt?

Why does everyone bring up KDR as a measure of "skill" or fun. Is it because it's the only proper trackable statistic in PVP? If your only insults to people are KD then you are obviously an egotistical insecure muppet.

i wouldnt say its the only thing to measure skill, imo i check for 3 things: 1. KDR, if youre above 1.00 it already means you got more or just as many kills as your team, so you helped enough to win the fight. if youre below this then there are 2 other things im looking for. 2. if you play in control capturing zones is important. if you keep respawning on the wrong side you will lose (for the most part since many maps have 1 good side and 1 bad side). if you have below 1.00 but still got at least 5+ captures you still helped your team. there are many people that have 20+ kills but never captured a zone (besides the one at the start) which often leads to a lost game because of the multiplier, even though you got the most kills on your team. im not only blaming the player who didnt capture, but it simply is a factor. (there could also be an afker in your team or something) 3. Assists. assists are sometimes even more important than kills. a kill grants 100 or 110 (headshot) points. with someone assisting you (or you assist someone) you can get 150 / 160 points. this doesnt seem like much, but if everyone gets 10+ assists it still summs up and helps to win the fight, especially when both teams are skilled and the fight is even. sure, some people get high kd from camping or a lucky rocket / super but if someone gets constantly 25~ 30kills and keeps a high kdr i would still go so far and call that a skilled player. maybe it doesnt mean much for some people since destiny has a higher luck factor than other shooters, but luck was always part of the shooter genre.
