Right now, I'm sitting at a table of devs posting on this forum, responding to and reading feedback! They care, and they do a ton of work to make improvements to core systems like the recent sandbox updates, to fix and resolve bugs and issues, and to even extend and improve functionality of the companion app. We're beyond a dozen updates in less than six months. More on the way. We'll never be able to take in every individual's feedback, person by person, but we absolutely look at the forums, track trends, and look at data, and we're absolutely committed to continue updating Destiny. We're aware that we can do more to mix it up here on Bungie.net, and to acknowledge your feedback officially. If you like today's open house with the dev team, please let them (and DeeJ) know!

  • Hi Urk, Thanks for taking the time to respond. This issue of "caring" is really a perception issue. You probably already know this, so I don't mean to beat a dead horse or imply this is a new thought. But Destiny not only must provide these updates (as you note above you have done) but you must communicate them in such a way that the end user "feels" they are being heard and that you, as a company, care about something more than profit margins. Some really small things could have helped that you missed out on: the heavy ammo bug is a perfect example. Screaming and crying week after week and then Deej admits its a problem and a programmer explains the intricacies of the programming, etc. BUT, you still didn't have Xur sell heavy for many weeks in a row and you didn't lower the cost in the gunsmith. Urk, throw us some bones. You could have made a big splash about how you are working on this heavy ammo glitch night and day and by Oryx, until that problem is fixed Xur will sell heavy every week and furthermore everybody gets a free package of heavy in the special orders section of the tower. What would have been the problem? But in not doing something this simple, you alienated and angered people who increasingly don't believe Destiny "cares." You have to win the hearts and minds, Urk, and not just create a great game. Note that Sony gave everybody five more days on the Playstation Plus account to make up for the Christmas hack disaster. A small and simple move on their part, but it makes people feel "Hey, Sony is manning up and doing the right thing!"

  • Personally I'm always enthusiastic to see what you guys have teed up for the next update. Making great things takes time and supporting them takes even more. Sure.. It may have been a disappointment for a lot of people but there is obviously a lot of hard work being done to make it better. A large part of the community knows this. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming. This guardian thanks you

  • considering you guys decided to degrade game play for people who purchased the game but did not buy the DLC, I do not believe you care at all. Bungie has created some of the most anti player policies I have ever seen. So again I do not believe you care and I believe the culture at Bungie is now monies at any cost.

  • I can't believe Bungie felt as they needed to take the time to respond to this ridiculous post... shouldn't that in itself show you something?

  • Beyond a dozen updates really goes to show how unpolished your game was upon release. I don't think updating it that many times in such a short time is something to brag about. Especially when so many aspects of the game are completely broken and they haven't brought any overall value to game play. Weapons go up, weapons go down, but wait lets make the weapons go down again.

The open house is amazing, I think a few more of these, and/or something regularly and the community will respond positively. I think at this point your seeing a lot of skepticism from past communication levels. I got a very basic answer to my question, as simple as "I can't talk about that" ~Thug. Even that is a level of acknowledgement, and a reasonable answer. Edit... Just keep the train moving in the right direction, we'll get on board IMO. Thanks!

  • I second that. Don't get discouraged devs, this open house was a big step in the right direction. I appreciate the effort as well and think the angry passion you are seeing is a testimony to the solid core you have built for us. Excited for what lies ahead!

  • I'm not asking to give us everything we ask for. That's silly. But a whole big update talked about just for weapon "fixes"? When there is still major bugs in raids and strikes, people quitting during strikes and not getting punished or being AFK? There's a lot of stuff I think should've been focused on before gun nerfs. That's my opinion though

  • It seems like all you care about is turning this game into a pvp only one. The Queens Wrath was the only pve event and we see how well that went. Since then nothing but IB and nerfing guns because of the pvpers.

I just wanted to say.. today.. overall has been an eye opening and refreshing experience. while i've submitted several posts .. most of which have been unanswered - it's still refreshing to see you guys actively engaging the community. for that, for your time and dedication to both destiny and for swallowing what has to be mountains of crap (negative posts) - i just wanted to say thank you.

You'll likely never read this, but the reality is you created your own nemesis. You've created a great game, but a primordial version of what you're aiming for. As a result people play it and want more. The biggest issue you've got is that there are spikes of feedback on the forums, and the next week the update doesn't even touch those topics, and instead is a focus on things no one cares about. (By that I mean, people care about them but want to feel like they're being acknowledged on what they care about). You may want to think about a 'feedback focus' section that is in every weekly update. Just a paragraph that let's players know you're in touch. You clearly are - but not everyone sees it, and they feel ignored.
