I'm just so freakin happy that xur finally decided to bring this armor piece!! (already have it, but i wanted him to sell it for my 2 brothers).
Anyway...Warlocks you will get the best of this armor in PvE, like every weapon and armor in this game you will find it useful in some situations, be sure to level up that discipline to 100% (it helps a lot) and DON'T USE FIREBORN, you are wasting your radiace with that perk, use radiant skin/radiant will/ gift of the sun/fusion granades for big bosses, be sure to punch a minor enemy to grab an extra shield and keep moving while you spam granades.
Now for PvP...this chest piece won't shine to much...i tell you why, Fireborn is just so easy to predict/counter at this point on the game and if you decide to roll with Radiant skin, antoher super can easily kill you, sure you can put your solar granades on and "lock" an entire zone, but in the crucible there are to many factors that can end your radiance...i'm not saying HoPF is bad for PvP, i just think there are better options around (Voidfanf for example).
And last but not least the shader, it's very difficult to find one that matches, so here are the options i found so far:
-Undercity
-Sunsetting
-God of War
-Thunderdevil
-Revenant
-Chatterwhite
-Default shader with raid gear
I hope this post helps everyone, Thanks!
P.D; Every time you activate you super you have to say PRAISE THE SUN!
Edit: For the peolple sayng that HoPF is good in PvP, yes it is good but just remeber something, the claws of ahamkara gives you 2 OHK ;)

Anyone know if Praise the sun stacks with Song of flame? I play titan as main. I like being support. And if I could boost my team's supers and grenades? All for it!
-
Take it from me, this is the best and irrefutable tip for HoPF: 1) Dismantle HoPF 2) Play with actual good armor 3) ??? 4) Profit

Sunsetting is quite nice with it, I agree
-
Thanks for that. I bought one in anticipation of making a warlock.
-
I use HoPF, Vex, Black Hammer and The Swarm (solar). I burn everything in my path. Praise the sun.
-
Predawn Eris shader looks great w it. I'm happy.

Edited by t0nin0t: 2/28/2015 1:37:47 AMPvP tutorial in this is so dumb... HotPF is very good in PvP... claws of ahmkara? seriously, you get 3 ohk melees with HotPF while getting shield
-
Personally I like to use fire born because when I'm killing atheon or Templar and the shield glitches I have a back up
-
HOTPF is downright sexy with chatterwhite and monte carlo.. you look like a knight of the templar
-
What about goldspiral with IB gear, i like it better than my raid gear
-
-
Cryptographic looks the best, which is just a better version of default raid colors
-
For the shader I'm using Cryptographic (CE normal reward). Goes very nicely. :3

Disagree with the tactics. 1. Fireborn is only a "waste" in the Crota fight since any death still triggers the Oversoul. So it is more important NOT TO DIE, than it is to be able to resurrect yourself after doing so. Because any death risks a team wipe. Otherwise, Fireborn is often all that stand between a kick to orbit in the Nightfall...and a slow-motion team wipe in hard raids. The key is knowing what is more important....the damage you can do...or not leaving your team a man-down no matter what. 2. Praxic Fire is less stellar in PvP for one simple reason. YOU RUN OUT OF TARGETS...so there is less of a benefit to prolonged Radiance in PvP versus PvE. Fireborn is an effective strategy in the Crucible. You just have to be SMART when you use it. You have to wait for a time when the other team either has difficulty seeing you (because they rolled over you as a team and you just revived yourself in the middle of their ranks), or when the person who just killed you is vulnerable. Like a Titan who just used his Fist of Panic...and is now within arm's reach and has NOTHING readily available to put you down with. Especially if you've chosen the "reduces incoming damage" option on your skill tree. Because one second he's patting himself on the back for taking you out with FoH...the next he's face-to-face with a fiery tank and nowhere to run. Good way to get easy kills. Praxic Fire's Radiance is good for situations when you find yourself outnumbered and have to stand your ground in a critical situation. Like defending a vital control point...or the heavy ammo drop. Claws of Ahamkara are great...but only if you COMMIT to a CQB build. I rolled with Monte Carlo and Claws with my Warlock in this most recent Iron Banner. Had a really nasty suprise for all the rushers and shotgunners.

Million million shader doesn't look too shabby either with HoPF.
-
Totally agree with the shaders, God of War shader/HoPF were made for each other, I was rocking it from week 3 until late December when I got Sunsetting

Edited by dguzma07: 2/27/2015 5:01:30 PMYay I bought mine this morning! PRAISE THE SUN HALLELUJAH!!! Although I may need new legendary armor to help even out the discipline and strength stats.

Sigh........am I the only sun singer warlock here for PvP? No wonder you guys think it sucks, your all choosing terrible setups! But I do agree that res is Definantly not good for Pvp!
-
I think glowhoo and full raid looks good
-
I tought GlowHoo looked preety cool!
-
I agree with you. And million million shader looks ok too. And the crota normal shader
-
You da real mvp
-
Praise the sun? Confirmed illuminati.

Thanks for the tips. I'm using mine for Patrol and when I have to clear bounties. And thanks for the list of shaders. I think I have most of them, so I'll try to figure out which one I like the most. :D
