It was announced that Patch 5 for Dragon Age Inquisition has entered the Beta Phase and it is a SHINING beacon of how a developer is SUPPOSED to treat their community and how a developer is SUPPOSED to address community feedback.
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time than Destiny.
Yet the forums have been alight with unanimous requests for certain things.
The Community asked Bioware to bring back "The Black Emporium" from Dragon Age 2.
Why?
Simply put The Black Emporium was a black market for the player to get special gear and and other items for their character and people wanted to see a return of such a place.
Bioware's response?
- The Black Emporium: A mysterious underground shop owned by an immortal proprietor which appeared in the previous game via DLC. Here, the Inquisitor can purchase items such as epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics to add to the Inquisition.
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community kept talking about and requesting a way to alter their characters appearance in game.
Why?
The lighting in the Character creator can't 100% show how a character would look in the countless different lighting situations the game has. People (myself) included found a flaw or two in their character in certain lightings and had no way of fixing it.
Bioware's response?
- Mirror of Transformation: It is found inside the Black Emporium which also appeared in the previous game. It will enable the player to change facial appearance and voice in “Dragon Age: Inquisition.”
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community was upset that there was not a real storage option to help them keep gear or share gear between their characters.
There was no storage chest so you had to carry everything on you at all times. On top of that there was no way to share gear between your characters.
Bioware's Response?
- Undercroft Party Storage: BioWare will add a party storage located at the Undercroft of Skyhold, allowing players to keep items for later use.
Also being added to Patch 5.
ALL OF THIS IS BEING ADDED FOR FREE AND IS BEING DONE AT THE REQUEST OF THE COMMUNITY
That is not EVEN counting the patches that has come before this one that has fixed countless bugs and balanced numerous abilities.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
To the people who constantly feel the need to defend Bungie and the way they treat this game and their community.
To the people who constantly say "Programming these kinds of things takes time!"
Where is that logic in this situation?
Bioware has a smaller overall team working on Dragon Age.
Smaller overall community for Dragon Age
Smaller overall Budget for Dragon Age
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time
Dragon Age Sold alot less than Destiny.
Yet they have no problem pumping out patches and fixes that their community wants and that their game needs.
What is your excuse Bungie?
You have no shortage of community feedback yet you seem completely blind to our existence.
We already HAVE a storage system and simply want more space. Bioware are going to add a storage space FROM SCRATCH and have had LESS time to do it.
There are still bugs in the VoG that has existed for the LENGTH of the game, and yet you still have not fixed them.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
So I will ask again.
Whats your excuse Bungie?
Upvote this if you think that this community and this game deserves to be treated in a similar manner
EDIT: Over 650 upvotes and its not "trending" ..........hmmm.......how curious

So go play dragon age.
-
-sigh- more whining, more "look what this company did", more "they're not doing things fast enough, or how i would do them", more "how dare they not take time away from fixing shit, to TALK about fixing shit". It's sad, really...people seem to think that adding features, and fixing issues, is as trivial as waving one's hands and willing the fixes and features into existence. And when you try to explain why it isn't that simple, people start saying that it's untrue, and excuses, and that people who understand the reality of things are "fanboys".

Bump. Just to get this to the top so someone of authority can help pull bunnies head out of its ass. It's a great game. But take some notes son.
-

Very fair and honest criticism. I for one am under the mindset that sweeping changes will only be made once some Bungie employees hit the curb. Brutal? Maybe, but I have witnessed this sort of thing before with regards to a different game. It took a change in staffing to get that game to turn around. The game went from dreary and monotonous to engaging and rewarding at the flip of a switch.
-
Bro, do you even raid?
-
In short. Bungivision can't hear us in their pool of our money given to them on the premise that they would actually give us the game they promised. And the kicker...
they don't care!
-
Then go play that and get off these forums
-
Kids are so whiney and demanding with video games. It's a video game... Either enjoy the entertainment or move onto a new game. This isn't supposed to be your life lol... Why are you so serious about it? It's a cheap form of entertainment that some of you expect way too much from. If you aren't enjoying the things you choose to waste your free time on, you're doing it wrong. If you are enjoying it as you cry about it, you're doing it wrong. Grow up and get a life... lol. What a sad bunch.

I'm trying to figure out why people are still playing this game religiously. I've hopped over to warframe. It has more depth, but hey...
-
Go play dragon age if you want loved

Edited by BoomBatSPAGATT: 2/26/2015 4:11:31 PMIn fairness, Destiny is a complete online matchmaking game. Dragon Age is not. (shitty online co-op sure) (no1 plays it) Maybe that's why Bioware can make changes more rapidly than Bungie can?
-
The problem is that the Destiny community is far more divided about what they want (except vault space, of course) and a lot of what people are asking for is dumb or game-breaking. It is far easier to provide a single-player experience.
-
They do read the feedback I would go back and list it but if you have enough time to rant about bioware you can go back and read the weekly updates Bungie has listened that's why we have 10 bounty bounty slots weapon balancing trade able resources resource rewards raid patching yeah because Bungie did that because they don't listen
-
I see both sides of this continuous argument. Yes, bungie pitched much more at e3 which is what probably sold most of us that preordered asap. But at the same time, the game is pretty clear on what's not going to change at this point. I understand the frustration of all the things that are wrong with this game but at the same time when one of my raid buddies shoots me a request, I still drop whatever game I'm playing and get ready to raid. I don't play daily like i used to, but I'm always ready to take down Crota or Atheon at the drop of a hat. Plus you have to remember that they made this game for current AND past gen consoles. Dying light dropped their past Gen version more than likely because they see the woes of destiny. If destiny 2 isn't 1,000 times better i probably won't buy it but for now i bought destiny and its season pass, and although I've gotten way more than my money's worth as it is, I'll continue to play. Thanks for letting me know about DA:I though, I'll check that out after dying light

Fair questions. Bungie? Crickets...
-
Bump maybe time to pick up dragon age instead of destiny
-
Bump it..Bump it real good!!! Totally up vote!!! Agree 100 percent. Inexcusable.
-
This is probably due to the fact the Bioware is one of the better gaming companies out there. I'm just going to point at the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer updates as proof of their generosity (if that's what it would be called).
-
It's a different game made by a different company. No one is making you play.
-
Where's the 'wah' option.. Who the -blam!- cares dude if you like what they're doing go play dragon age
-
Yeah....this would be nice. Bungie is fairly notorious for sticking to their vision of the game though.
-
Bioware is Canadian. Canadians are nice generally. Bungie is American
-
Bump this shit
-
Bump.
