Tips for getting on a team for Crota

I keep seeing posts and replies of how hard it is to find a team for this raid. The biggest problem I've run into with randoms on lfg is they just aren't using the right gear for the raid and it's not too much to ask for your teammates to come prepared. Let me start off with saying that while it's ideal for everyone to be 32, both normal and hard can be completed with a few 30s and 31s. The issue we run into mainly is your weapons and or healing methods for normal and hard Crota. Please invest in your character's armor and weapons if you want to complete the highest level content in the game. I personally take all light levels if the have maxed or close to max legendary and exotic weapons. I've had players show up from lfg with blue rocket launchers and fusion rifles for the Crota fight. It just doesn't cut it. Experienced raiders are typically looking for maxed legendary/exotic primaries preferably scouts and hand cannons. I can't tell you how many times I've had players trying to run the Crota fight with high rof low impact auto rifles. You should be using a sniper rifle for Crota for the over soul, ogres and boomers or even crota's shield if you're out of rockets. Rocket launcher with proximity rounds and or tracking. If you're rockets are missing you are a detriment to the team. If you don't have these then maybe a sniper or high impact high range machine gun can help sustain good damage on Crota's shield. Healing options for Crota fight: 1)Striker titans have transfusion which heals upon storm fist and shoulder charge kills. (Not the best option but it's there) 2)Titan helmet insurmountable skull fort picks up orbs for health. 3) void walker has an energy drain melee perk that restores health. 4)warlock helmet light beyond nemesis picks up orbs for health. Apotheosis veil picks up orbs and activates healing after super use. 5)blade dancer hunter has hungering blade which heals with super kills and blink strike kills. 6) hunter helmet mask of the third man heals with orbs. 7)all Crotas end helmets have a chance of having the pick up orbs for health perk to free up your exotic helmet slot. 8)red death can heal upon kills and suros regime heals upon damage randomly (suros best used on boomer knights for health) 9) (edit) apparently popping a bubble for defenders heals you in the hard Crota fight. I main a defender Titan with blessing of light and it only gives me an over shield that wears off not restoring health, so I use the skullfort. But if it's working for y'all go ahead and do it! :) 10) all classes have rare helmets (blue) that have the orb for health perk which can be used to switch to real quick for healing then switch back. Lastly little to no experience can be a deterrent but I've never turned anyone down who can listen to the strategy for each part and ask questions and follow instructions. If you have any more questions about the raid or your setups or strategies for any of the parts just ask in the comments. Feel free to add anything I missed and I'll try to add it to the list. Thanks Edit: I'm on Xbox one btw Edit2: for those curious my weapon load outs are: Thrall maze: fatebringer, ice breaker, hunger of Crota Bridge: fang of ir yut, icebreaker/sword breaker (depending if I go over or stay to snipe), hunger of Crota/gjallarhorn Death singer and Crota fight: fang of or yut, black hammer, gjallarhorn. Those load outs are by no way what you HAVE to have but a guideline to possibly something similar.
