Just a simple observation last night and previously on the vog.
The gjallerhorn is not that good of a weapon. .......
as a group it is very deadly and can rip boss health apart. but individually it seems to only graze health from the boss and with limited rockets, it strikes me as a weak weapon. I know people won't agree with me on this but it strengthens the call for xur to sell it so we have access to it in bulk rather than being then one individual who carries it. For example last night the additional ice breakers helped bring the templar down very quickly, where clearly bought on mass.
and yes I got mine 3 months ago (gjall) so I'm not just asking for it

1 ReplyEvery weapon sucks, dismantle them all, just use melee and grenades.

I agree with you 100% every weapon is situational. G-money on the thrall phase? Unless you're standing on that rock you better not. Random thrall bro-saves are a bitch. Rockets on Atheon? Save that nonsense for the preatorian on Venus. However if you see that swordbearer hiding or a bunch of vex trying to sacrifice...the horn is king .

2 RepliesIt is not a weak weapon at all, like anything in this game, weapon use is very much situational. So in a boss fight if only one person is using gjallarhorn, it's probably because there are better weapons for that fight and I am willing to bet that no one else is using rockets in that situation. A great example of this is the atheon fight, no one uses rockets for that because doing so has a tendency to make him dance around so if everyone else had gone the conventional route and are hitting him with snipers from the middle, the one "lone wolf" firing rockets is only going to mess it up for everyone else. But if everyone else is going to use rockets (be it gjallarhorn or not) then atheon will be ripped a new one. This is not to say it is a pack only weapon, defending the confluxes can be done solo by a ruin wings wearing titan with a gjallarhorn!!!

3 RepliesJellyhorn has the highest burst damage of any weapon, not debatable. That doesn't make it a God hand. Pelt any enemy with rockets and it'll bring their health down. Also if you're referring to Aethon he's an exception when it comes to this discussion. The mechanic of Time's Vengeance makes critical hits do extraordinary damage. Anything that is incapable of scoring critical hits will become less effective due to lacking the multiplicative damage multiplier.

4 RepliesSo you're against rocket launchers then? Since they all have "limited rockets".
