They're just trying to make raids relevant, cause as of now, there really isn't much incentive to visit Vog. It's their way of trying to keep this game alive.

Yeah I'm not saying it's dieing but the community has slowed down a bit, I still play a bunch. Idk, until more details are revealed, I'm not that excited about it. With the new raid items, ascendant shards don't hold much use for me. More than likely this new chest is only that.

It's also a fun thing to do when you're parties bigger than 3 and you don't want to do crucible. Idk, I really like this game and have lots of fun using really cool guns shooting at enemies so I don't mind the repetitive nature of this game.

This game is very much alive, without hidden chests.

it is for those that need ascendant energy or chance for exotic drops. vog guns blow away crota end's also.
