Should 31s be allowed to run Crota Hard Mode?

I am 31, and I don't run hard mode because I don't have gjallarhorn. If I did, I would run it because a 31 is only doing 10%ish less damage than a 32 because of the fact that the raid is 33.

I have 2 32's and the only way I got my second there and will get my 3rd is by doing hard. How does anyone know if the 31 has 32's and knows what he is doing. With my 31 titan I usually survive while watching 32's die.lol

I don't get the elitist attitude over half a lvl. You can reach lvl 31.5 without doing a raid. When h.o.w drops that half a lvl will go. Unless bungie are going to stop players leveling up there is no need to raid.

Our fire team on one run last week was 4 32's and 2 31's. Only 3 wipes on crota. 2 to disappearing sword and one to an uncooperative sword bearer. It comes down to player skill and gear.

Made a warlock last week. Have done crota twice and never died as a 31. You just have to be very careful and know exactly what you're doing

Lvl 31 and half warlock. I just need more raid armor. I've beaten normal every week and still only have raid boots. Chances are higher in hard mode. I have maxed weapons and Crota's checkpoint on hard. Reply here or message me on Live. My Gamertag is Z0MBIE NINJA101. The "o" in zombie is a zero.

2 RepliesThis is idiotic honestly. If they're 31 with skill and knowledge or experience of what to do it shouldn't matter. Obviously with all 32's it will run way more smooth, but I've ran into more skilled 31's than 32's. Most 32's I've met you can tell they were carried for the raids. Also if you're 31 I do believe you should at least have good guns going in.

I've ran crota HM with 4 31's and 2 32's. Might I add, we had 2 ghorns total.

It's partly based on level but I also look at hours played, grim score, and just other aspects

2 RepliesLook, it's as simple as this, as long as there is RNG there will be 32s that have run the raid less and got to 32 before other more skilled players. I watched a level 31 hunter solo the lanterns on hard after the rest of the team wiped on the 3rd. Level is not =/=skill. I should know I'm 31 and I've seen 30s smash VoG far more efficiently than me. All threads like this do is perpetuate elitism. If you need an extra bit of damage to carry your already higher level ass through the raid then hang your head. some of my 32 friends routinely carry 3 level 31s through hard mode.

Chances are the 32 is more skilled than the 31 nine times out of ten and they arent handicapped by dishing out less damage and taking more damage from enemies. What I suggest is that you stop bitching and start the fireteam yourself. People dont mind running with a 31 if they are invited to the group by one and there are some 32s in the fireteam, but nobody is going to willingly invite a random 31 over a 32 unless they have no other choice or just feel like being nice.

I beat crota with one 32 and the rear were 31. We only had 5 players to. It was probably the fastest run I have ever done. Took only 2 try's. I've played with 6 32's and couldn't beat crota.

2 RepliesI run a 32 hunter and find myself much better off doing the raid. But let me explain why it is usually unwanted to have 31s or lower. So for every level a guardian is under the level of the mission, he deals 10% less damage and takes 30% more damage. If you've noticed, CE on hard is level 33. So, even level 32s are handicapped. But level 31s are even more. They deal 20% less damage and take 60% more damage. They will die easier, making the raid harder as less and less people are there to complete the section. For crota, dying is practically a wipe, because all 6 players are wanted for the section, and if you die, the over soul can make things very difficult. So if a 32 wants do do a faster run, please respect that they don't want level 31s doing the raid. And if you're so confident that 31s can do it, get a fire team full of them and do it. There are plenty of 31s around to do it. 32 also does massive damage to crota making the last section a hell of a lot easier.

We carried 2 level 30s and only had two 32s one being the sword bearer and the other was the Titan. Only took 3 tries

I mean if he capable yeah i wouldn't want a 31 sword bearer for obvious reasons but if he have good weapons hell yea i took my lvl 31 in a fresh raid and ran it with minimal wipes. Stay alive is the only requirement if your lvl 31, 32's usually get the benefit of the doubt its -blam!-ed up but its ture. I check loadouts on characters people can cheese, get lucky and whatever else to get to 32 but they cant fake skill. Choosing the right weapons, armor and perks is key in staying alive.

I personally waited til I was 32 to attempt hard mode, but I have definitely completed it with 31s in the group.

I watched a livestream of four 31s and two 32s beat hard mode crota end from the beginning, completely legit, in three & 1/2 kneels. The streamer was running viewers through it. Random people, with various weaponry. They didn't have much trouble with it.

1 ReplyI beat it the first time as a 31 - one of two on a team with 32's - so, yes, if they're capable and learn to stay out of trouble they should be invited. And most importantly, hope to have a glitch-free run but good luck with that part.

Actually i play the CE HM with 1 to 2 player lvl 31... the rest are 32s... More than 2 player makes the raid so goddamn frustrating, that isn't worth doing it... so, i don't kick players, but 32s have priority
