To people who want more vault space, read this.

I personally see no use for more vault space. To me, it just appears as you hoarding gear that you most likely will never touch again. But if that's what you want, then so be it. I have nothing against it. And if it's in high demand, then I see no reason as to why it shouldn't be implemented. Personally, I think adding vault access from orbit is far more necessary. But, Bungie insists that adding things like more vault space and such takes time to build. But, I don't think you guys remember when they doubled the bounty slots in literally one week. It's the exact same concept as vault space, yet they're saying that adding vault space is a huge change to the game. I call bullshit. Just pointing this out. Figured you all would like to see just how bad Bungie is at lying. I don't know why they feel the need to lie right to the faces of their consumers, but I just gave clear evidence that it is indeed happening. Edit: I wasn't trying to say that everyone hoards their gear. I was just saying that's all I see from my friends. The main point of this post was to show you that when Bungie says things like adding vault space takes a while, they really mean that they don't give a shit about what you want.

  • Its not hoarding its collecting. I have all vog weapons and armor and crotas end weapons and armor. Every exotic except hardlight and nechrocasm. Theres no reason i should have to dismantle gear that i grind weekly to get. Whenever i run raids or strikes i keep my weapon slots full so if i get anything it goes to the postmaster and if i have a double of it i keep it there if i i dont like it or use it i dismantle.

      • They did not double bounty slots in one week. I'm pretty sure they even talked about it more than a week before implementation. Are you really so naïve as to think they don't start work on something until they tell us about it?

        • Yeah, mission item space doubled too... And it's never used. Not for exotic bounties, Eris Quests (which are held as bounties...why?), or the items collected on patrol that probably have cool descriptions but never appear in mission inventory. There's ten slots right there already in the game. Make THOSE a 'stash' on your ship that can be accessed while in orbit.

        • I agree completely. Why is more Vault Space so complicated. It feels like they fix what they think needs changing, and it's done quickly. Anything we want is pushed aside.

When you have more than one character you will understand. I thought the same thing until I had 2 characters. I don't know how people with 3 do it. EDIT: Also, to clarify, it's not always all three sections that fills up. I have 3 things on my armor side. Maybe 6 things on my weapons...but the third column is completely filled with materials that I share between characters

          • Part of the problem of people hoarding gear is the fact that Bungie is constantly changing the way weapons work. For example the upcoming patch will be buffing and nerfing weapons. So I hold on to a lot of weapons because after the next patch the weapons I use now could be completely useless where the ones hiding in my vault will be OP. Another thing is when they add new content some people like to hold on to their old raid loot for memories if nothing else, or they hold it because some of the old 300 weapons are still more useful than any of the 331 weapons for certain parts of the game. I personally have never come close to maxing out my armor side of the vault, but as far as weapons and general inventory I am constantly having to move gear to hold on to things. More vault space would be extremely nice. I don't think they want to make the vault accessible from orbit because I think they want to force you into the social aspect of the tower...

            • Bounties and Vault are two completely different subsystems. The bounties at the very least are personal only, whereas the vault is shared between characters. Bounty slot increases were probably planned for The Dark Below anyway with Eris's bounties and all, so that may just have been a matter of turning it on early. Sorry man, but they're just not the same thing.

Everything I own serves a purpose. Everything down to the blue gallahad e. More vault space is needed now. This is before the new dlc - so your post is crazy saying that people are "hoarding" It's also so hard and almost a massive inconvenience to go from character to space to tower every time you need to switch one or two weapons. Bungle however are piss poor liars and I personally believe adding another page wouldn't be hard to do. They work out far worse problems. I'm sure they can figure out adding another page.

I had a hunter, didn't like it, so I made anothwr warlock, not a big issue when I done that, I got bored with 2 warlocks so I thought I would give the Hunter a go, now it's a big issue, the new hunter isn't levelled up to use legendary or exotics yet, so now the weapons section in my vault is full and both my titan and warlock have full inventory, so more space would certainly be handy, also I don't horde weapons or armour, if I don't use it is break it down for materials to upgrade other weapons or if I have something similar that has better stat's I break them down

                  • Hoarding gear? No more like arming up for nightfalls , raids, and weekly Having a sniper of all 3 elements, lmgs and of course exotics the number builds up. We need more vault space to hold guns that are not only going to be used now but later

                    • But that's the draw of the game. Even Bungie themselves talk about hoarding of your favorite gear and weapons. If there were separate vaults for each character it wouldn't be as big of an issue.

                    • Each character should have its own 'vault' of 20 weapons, 20 armor and 20 'other' and then there should be a 'shared' vault to transfer items. You should also be able to access your vault/reputation levels etc while in orbit via your ship.

                    • i agree. vault space isnt hard to implement, but imo we do need more of it. I like many others have almost all the exotic weapons. ive deleted a few that i know i will never use (invective, universal remote) and still have to prioritize which weapons to put on what character so i can have the ones i want in the vault when swapping. granted i may never use some of the exotics i currently have but im also afraid that if i delete one ill regret it later. For example i deleted the ghorn back in October because it seemed useless at the time. a rocket that tracks and clusters that track didnt make sense back then, but of course now it makes perfect sense when in a raid or particularly difficult strike. it wouldnt surprise me if no land beyond all of a sudden had a use it the next raid. lol. i dont see how but i know if i delete it ill regret it.

                    • Vault space for one character is ok. Lots of people have more than one character but every character a person has shares one vault. If I had three characters I'd probably need more vault space too.

                    • More vault space means more server resources used, which means more costs, which means less profit, which means screw the customers bungievision want all the money for themselves.

You're assuming they'll use the same system, just with more slots. Perhaps they're overhauling the vault to allow for better organization and a more logical layout, as in different sections for primary, secondary, heavy weapons, helmets, etc. Some thing like this http://imgur.com/a/K2Yqk#0
People love to collect. Trophies, Awards, Gear, anything we can show off we love it. Why, in a game where customisation and bragging rights is encouraged would bungie limit what a vault can hold and what armor you can wear at high ranks? Stupids

                      • I have three characters and every exotic except RD, GH, and HL. I try to have an exotic for all three characters when possible but it is not always possible--three Icebreakers, 3 suros, 3 plan c, etc. I have iron banner guns that I like to keep and reroll for stats. I have old 1.0 guns that I like for crucible. Still hard to beat Shadow Price in crucible where the attack value doesn't matter. I have new guns that I need to rank up and try out. I have guns waiting on a buff (Universal REmote and the Land Beyond). And then there are the guns that I love and have a specific use for but only have one of. For example, I still like VOG and for VOG I like FB, VOC, Vex Mytho, void 77 wizard FR, Icebreaker, and Corrective Measure. Except for IB I only have one of those. Which means I need vault space to make the swaps in a minimum amount of time. You may not need more vault space but I do. I am constantly deleting shaders also because I have so many and when one shows up at the post office there is no way to get the icon to go away other than delete for space.

                      • I don't necessarily want more vault space just a redesign of how it's used. I have nothing in my armour side, I would like to be able to put weapons or something else in those spaces. Accessing vault from orbit would be great also.

                        • Ok I'll give you something to think about. Is adding vault space hurting you? No it's not. The majority of players want more space. You are not among that majority. Why post this? So bungie will see it and think there are people out there opposed to vault space? The purpose in us posting in bulk is to show bungie that we all want change. You make no valid point at any point in your reasons above.
