Mmos are dead. It was all based on subscription. Destiny doesn't need any of these shit mmo elements like weekly and raid events. It can just be a full time open and free world where we progress how we want and with people we like but aren't forced to need to complete content.
I think there are several reasons why people often dislike MMO's
-A lot of the content is created through repetition
-Many MMO's require a large time investment to be able to play endgame content
-MMO players often do not play anything else, and are often not gamers in the broader sense
-The MMO genre has been really stagnant, and new games released over the last decade have largely disappointed.
-Most MMO's follow the same blueprint, and there is the general feeling that there is not enough variation.
-A lot of people criticizing MMO's have played them and got burnt out on them.

MMO'S are dead? Lmao More people play on any three MMO'S than LIVE and PSN put together. Also, the console player bases don't come close to the number of people playing on PC. There's not even a comparison. Try doing even a modicum of research before you spout off about shit you know nothing about.

Destiny is a mmo? Shit I most be playing the wrong game then lol
I don't hate MMO's unless you are referring to MMORPG's even then I would just say I dislike them mainly because they are a cash grab with mainly a very repetitive gameplay mechanic and you are pretty much paying $15 a month so you can be social.
Edited by DoktorBoar: 2/9/2015 7:34:34 AMMmos have captured about all they ever will in terms of gaming. It's only something a handful of losers would get into. Everybody in your high school knew what magic the gathering was but why does nobody want to play it? It sucks.

Mmos main problem is that they are unethical and try to addict subscribers even when there isn't a subscription fee, And second, they aren't designed well for group play and there's too much geek drama
-
So answer me this, why is never winter getting a release on next gen consoles.

MMO's are hardly dead. I would be surprised if MMO's died off within the next ten years. There's a lot of things about MMO's which people like over any other kind of gaming.

I have a solution for you... Don't play hurrah!
