The Only BR/AR Thread
Due to the incessant amount of spam and repeat posting about the topic of the design of the Battle Rifle and the Assault Rifle in Halo 3, all threads about these topics will be locked on sight and the author warned (then banned if they keep doing it). Please discuss the BR and AR and your thoughts in this thread and this thread alone.
For reference, Bungie's response to all comments and complaints about the design of the Battle Rifle can be found [url=/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=14347] in the weekly update for June 20th, 2008[/url].
People expecting further Bungie responses on the issue are likely to be disappointed.

I agree with you the BR is fine and a good weapon I wish it was in Halo Reach instead of the DMR anyway i use a BR alot but actually i was surprised to find that my multiplayer tool of destruction is actually my fists which is weird cause i'm usually a stealthy sniping son of a -blam!- anyway the BR is a nice sidearm for snipers as it allows for short distance sniping and close combat situation though I usually have an energy sword instead just cause it looks bad ass anyway the BR is a great tool so is the AR i actually use the AR alot more than any other weapon because in multiplayer its usually what you start with so yeah -EVB Church

i miss the BR :( the DMR is a great spiratual succesor, but nothing can replace the sweet sound of the BR. that was epic.

The Battle Rifle is, and always will be, the best rifle in any video game, ever. I will out-BR most people even if they manage to get a shot or two in before I do.

The Super Needle Rifle is the Covenant Version of the DMR. And the Br Was a Great Gun but that gun would DOMINATE Halo Reach.

since im a new user i cant make my own post, but Halo Reach is an epic fail in my opinion, why change a game that millions loved? the armor abilites = fail the armor in general = fail Battle Rifle > DMR X22222 before reach came out, Halo still had over 100 thousand online at a time which is great for a game that was out for 3 years, so heres what my idea is, and if succeded it will go down in history, THIS WEEKED 3/25-3/27 go on Halo 3 if u would go on Reach currently Halo 3 has about 16-19 thousand on at any given time, if we do this, hopefully it will bring those numbers up to atleast 50 thousand at any given time, i have done this for the call of duty series with MW2 as well, i made a post identical to this except with black ops being reach, and MW2 being halo 3 and the numbers went from 80k at any givin time to 120k at any given time, IF U MISS HALO 3, REPOST THIS ATLEAST ONCE sincerely, a halo 3 fan boy

I ove the AR because it's great from short and medium range. It's powerful with little recoil and does good damage on all vehicles. It's also good in short burst from long range. Its versatility is its strongest pro.

Mostly I rely on the AR (No I'm not a noob) for some good CQB fights in objective games, but the BR now takes a lil more skill to use.

I played H3 today after a few months of Reach (I finally saw the light but that's another topic) and I was surprised how good the AR is in H3 compared to the AR of Reach. It's even useful!
