Forced Crucible
Why is it that all the best stuff all require you to play crucible? And a LOT of crucible! I, for one, cannot play that very well. Actually, I stink at it. I don't like playing it, yet just about every exotic bounty has some kind of crucible aspect. THANKS A LOT BUNGIE! Just ruin a game I like by making me play a part of the game I normally wouldn't come near.
Am I the only one that feels this way?

Sure, a majority of the Exotic Bounties require you to play crucible, but those weapons are by no means "The Best" ...only different. Name an exotic weapon, and I guarantee I can name a superior, or at the very least equally powerful legendary weapon of the same class. If you refuse to play the Crucible, it's not Bungie's fault that you'll never complete an Exotic Bounty. You have a choice. Do it, or don't. But please, for the sake of the sanity of those of us who chose to suck it up, tough it out, and just do the damn thing... Stop crying about it. It's getting old. The Crucible will always remain part of the full game experience.

It just annoys me that you need crucible marks for factions stuff, why can't the PVE guys use vanguard marks?

There is only one bounty you do not have to do crucible. If I am not mistaken is the one for the machine gun. I also do not play crucible. I have received several exotic bounties but never for the machine gun. So I delete the bounties cuz I am not going to finish the crucible part. :-( I wish Bungie will balance the exotic bounties without the crucibles. I guess my wish is for death man ears.

It`s not that i`m not good or anything, but if i wanted to play PvP i would have bought CoD or battlefail. I did the IB twice and had to play crucible for a decent handcannon (TDYK is a bit underpowered now), so i needed the marks for the TFWPKY1969 (bring back mats for marks!). But very often i see a lot of lag wich makes the crucible almost a tedious, agonizing hell. But hell, i did all the exotic bounties, but i`d rather had more PVE sided bounties.

Totally agree. When they gave the PvP players the ability to buy Materials with Marks (either type), did they *have* to take away the PvE ability to trade Materials for Marks? Was there *really* no way for the two systems to co-exist? Why did they feel that they had to take that away?? Just remove the Reputation mods for what amounts to commerce and it's done!

I've done the Thorn bounty twice and just finished the Bad Juju last night. Really not that hard. Take a look at my KDR, it's not even great. Just stay above a 1 and you'll succeed.

1 ReplyYep I would love less of a push toward the Crucible and with the the Iron Banner coming back instead of the Queens Wrath really shows how we are forced in just to get the most out what we paid for during events esp since I hate PVP I have the most fun working with somebody then going against them and being shotgunned to death.

I think this is there attempt to make all parts of the game seem like a fluid experience. For a lot of people it's the most frustrating. I don't ever see them changing up exotic bounties though

I agree, I find it extremely annoying that even thought we earn rep and do work (patrols) for Dead Orbit, New Monarch, and Future War Cult in the patrol mode but can not use vanguard marks to buy the gear. Could this not be fixed as making these three groups able the use both marks?

No, I just did a ton of crucible to buy a crucible chest piece and dead orbit gloves. Like way too much. It takes 50 games of winning to be able to afford a chest piece. Plus you need to level up at some point in there to get a commendation. All I can say is I'm totally tired of the crucible and will very likely not do any iron banner. There won't be any point because it won't allow you to get to level 32 anyway, and it's just another grind to gain Rep that will be lost after the iron banner is gone. Sound fun yet?

5 RepliesUnless Bungie is literally holding a gun to the side of your head and telling you to do something or they'll shoot, you are doing this all by choice. Nobody is forcing you to anything in the game.

6 RepliesWhat did you expect? Its from the creators of Halo... an FPS and this game.... If you were expecting to run around and get a storyline and run around the game with all the best stuff without competing for it with things that are not AI. you should not have bought a multiplayer fps especially from the creators of halo.

That or you could tape down a joystick and idle in the crucible to show Bungie that you don't give f*** about playing the game the way they force you to. There's a way to earn marks :P

1 ReplyIm with you! About half of the armor and gear in the tower requires crucible marks, and as a PvE player, I'm not very good at crucible. It also doesn't help that when i do play it, i get 2-3 marks for every game. And now Bungie has removed the materials for marks system, so its impossible to get marks without playing the crucible. Bungie should give players the choice between killin Dregs and killin players, instead of driving everyone a certain way

6 RepliesI agree with you I've gotten the same exotic bounties 3 times in a row all of which you have to play crucible to get them. The thorn, invective, and bad juju. I've seen those bounties 3 TIMES IN A ROW! I've already got the bad juju and invective and I honestly don't want the the thorn because I'm not much of a hand cannon guy and my friends have told me it's a piece of crap, but I'm still trying to collect it just for the grimore score. I'm not bad in PvP but I just don't like the crucible it bores me like most of the game already does anyway

They won't listen. To actually complete those exotics I read people cheat and get a friend to play bullet catcher.. Where are the exploit police there?

Other games do a pretty decent job of this, but this one doesn't. Don't know why that area has not been addressed here. And that's not just for the benefit of inexperienced players. I see really good PVP players on here all the time complaining about the same thing... Their matchmaking algorithms are atrocious. Players of all skill levels should be able to enjoy the Crucible. You shouldn't have a constant stream of games where 70% of the people in them have negative K/D ratios... The computer should match those people up, and take those who possess a higher level of skill and match them up with competition more on their level. Unfortunately, that issue doesn't seem to be anywhere near the top of their list of things to do.

I hated it to but just try your best and you get better at it. Just don't rage and take it as a game. Once you know maps you will be better.

1 ReplySo it's a mix, not everyone likes grinding the same boring missions and strikes in order to get a weapon. Crucible isn't that bad, unlike the A.I players aren't predictable which is why you find it hard and hate it so much.

I agree completely and, with the new legendary gear available from faction vendors, it's only going to get worse.
