I'm fairly new to PC gaming, I've always stuck with console but I'm learning more and more that PC's are far more superior to consoles and so I wanted to try Halo 2.
Apparently you can play it online still on the PC? I haven't a clue.
Anybody care to shed a little light on the topic?

The difference is choice. "The problem is choice..." -- Neo Consoles are designed with the goal of simplifying everything. A game console is a black box that plays games, and has few options. Computer games are designed with the opposite in mind. Some games provide such a huge array of options that it can be confusing. Try to get used to the idea that this is an attempt to empower YOU. You get to decide what balance you want between fancy visual effects and the smoothness of how the game runs. Some people "need" a high frame rate. Others don't mind less consistent performance in exchange for nice visuals. Bottom line: Consoles decide for you. PC gaming lets you decide. If you find a PC game that doesn't give you enough choices, it's a "console port" and likely not made with a computer gamer in mind.
