To Bungie team and staff

To Bungie team and staff, To all the Bungie team and staff I want to congratulate you for your work on the Destiny project. As someone who has participated in company projects, and knows first hand the challenges that will be encountered, and how everything that can go wrong will go wrong, you did good. The fact that Destiny even plays is an achievement. Even If your job was writing code, level design, or even just buying pencils and cans of Monster, you all had a necessary role in getting things done. As I am typing this, many people including myself, are playing Destiny the game you all built; that should give you some sense of accomplishment. Individually we have invested at the least a 100 hours into building characters, hunting for gear, and killing each other. As a combined player base there has to be no less than a few million combined hours playing Destiny. I would say with the amount of gamers playing it, and that continue coming back, that people love Destiny; that or it is the one best drugs on the market. That said; because people have spent many hours exploring and dissecting the virtual universe, we can also clearly see that many things are out of place, or just missing. The game functions very well, and as far as shooters, I believe this is probably one of the best ever made. But as much as we love to log in and run around the different areas we cannot help, but notice the construction tape everywhere. The reason we are able to see this is not because the game is lacking, but because we can see the scaffolds, paint, and materials all throughout the game world. It isn't that you all did a bad job building Destiny, but TOO good of a job. We can see the ambition littered everywhere through out the game. It is hard to build something this large and extravagant, and hide the work you were performing; your tools are still where you left them. Many players and community fans, myself included, are wondering what happened. Well before we participated in the Alpha, we saw a brief glimpse of what you all intended, or imagined Destiny to be when finished. I believe that everyone was excited to see the finished product, especially with the record established from previous games. When we received our first sample of Destiny, through the Alpha and Beta, we were excited to finally be able to experience it. Most of us enjoyed playing the pre-release, even though we could tell there was an emptiness. At the time I believed that due to it being the Beta, it was a test run on a small portion of the game, which explained the absence of many parts. Since Destiny's release many have voiced their opinions and concerns over the current state of the game. Many continue to play, even though the game feels unfinished, because we want to love the game but we are struggling, because honestly, we do not feel the game loves us. There have even been conspiracy theories as to the environment at Bungie HQ, and as to what made Destiny the way it is now. The thing about conspiracy theories: They are normally birthed when the truth is hidden. Moving forward, it is important to establish trust between you all, the company, and us as the community. I am not demanding a statement or an apology from you Bungie, or for Destiny, but if you do begin to open up to us I believe things will begin to get better. Bungie, we love what you all do, and we want to continue supporting all your work. We want to support Destiny now, and going forward, but it is hard for us to do that if we feel like you do not trust us. So to take a line from what you charged us, the 'Guardians of The Last City' , "Step out of the Darkness, and into the Light, and become Legend."

  • To Deej and Bungie, I know that you guys like the feedback we, the players, give you. We can see that you are responding to some of it as well. It would probably be better if you all told us the vision YOU have for Destiny. We can give you guys ideas, and feedback, but you can only implement choice things. If we knew the current vision you all have for Destiny going forward it would help everyone.
