Let's talk about trading! (POLL!) MANY IDEAS AND COUNTING , PUT YOUR IDEAS IN TOO!
Alright so lets talk about trading! Should we have an auction style trade system similar to other MMO style games or should we have an open trade system between all players and such OR no trade system so everybody has to work for what they get!
Lets get ideas and more suggestions for this!

1 ReplyTrading should be open fr the fire team at the mission summary screen. That means you did the activity to earn to gear (since bungie is obsessed with he idea of earning gear) but you just sent win the roulette wheel that is the reward system. Another idea to balance it would be to only allow trades of the same rarity.

1 ReplyOpen trade, You can see the worth of your items, don't make bad trades. I'm also all for open trades because it allows gifting, as soon as we make restrictions you can't give a friend / clan mate / stranger anything. play smart and trade smart. things will work themselves out.

2 RepliesI think trading should be limited to the players in the fireteam, for a short period after obtaining loot, from a raid or strike tou played together. This way if a titan gets a hunter helmet, you can trade it to the hunter in your party. Give the trade option a timelimit of maybe an hour after obtaining the loot.

6 RepliesThey should certainly add trading, but with restrictions of a certain nature. I think a system of trading is perfect for a game like this and would make it much more enjoyable. But it needs to be done right. 1. We should only be able to trade legendary items and exotic items and things like shaders and materials. (Not ascendant materials) 2. Legendary item for legendary item and exotic For exotic and shader for shader etc etc 3. When they trade the item, it should hVe to be armor for armor and weapon for weapon. 4. Absolutely no raid armor trading in order to make it so you truly have to play the raid until you get the desired gear set. 5. Only allow a set number of trades per week (let's say 3) If these steps were taken in developing a trade system, you would have something that makes players still essentially earn any gear they have because in order to get an exotic for example, you must also have an exotic ready to trade to that person. This is exactly how bungie should implement this kind of system and still keep the ideals they want while making us all the more happier. 3 RepliesTrade freely but items gained this way are 'locked' and have to be 'unlocked' through spending motes of light/glimmer depending on the level of the gear etc. so that you still have to earn any of your gear but you have some control over what you get.

2 RepliesHow about limiting trade to people on your friends list? If I pick up a great Warlock helm that my friend can use, but he isn't on when I do, how can I get it to him? Open trade between people on your friends list.

And you can choose wether you wanted to sell it in glimmer, motes, or strange coin.

Only drops in which you participate in the party when received should be traded amongst said team. Trades should have a window of 30 minutes, then they're account bound. Ascended materials should be account bound only. Other, inferior upgrade materials should be traded for motes of light or strange coins. 10 per strange coin, 15 per motes of light, in an AH style trading system which keeps the user anonymous. These numbers should be locked, no more or less can be traded at a time but you can put up multiple items at once. Engrams should be allowed on the AH, legendaries costing 5 coins or 3 motes, while exotics cost double Xur's going rate so to not enflate the market. All raid gear and drops remain untradable unless you were within the fire team when it dropped. 30 minute window applicable here. Rares can be sold for double the Glimmer cost of the Gunsmith on the AH. These numbers should remain locked. This gives us a currency sink, as well as provides us ways to make safe trades without abuse to the system.

3 Replies"None of the Above" - I'd like to see a Trading Vendor in the Tower! With this you CANNOT trade directly with other people. - Depending on the item's "rareness" and level of upgrades you've put into it, it is worth "X" - Have a weekly special were you can trade in something to get what someone else has traded in(equal value of coarse) - Not every Exotic fits your playstyle so you might want to trade in yours for someone elses they traded in, instead of dismantling an Exotic -Put a high risk high reward trade in option for the bold & daring, if you trade in a legendary gun and choose this option, you may get nothing-an exotic gun. -Or have the vendor show what S/he has to trade or is "willing" but you must meet the requirements for the item! E.g. there's a weekly special for the LAST WORD exotic handcannon, well you have to trade in THORN + 5k glimmer for S/he to make a deal! Same for armor. Just some of the ideas I've thought of that would make trading WORK in Destiny.

I believe in an open trade, but I think an auction would also be a good idea to have.

I'm in favor of open trading. When you assign a value to somthing, usually inflation ensues. With a cap on glimmer, it would be more item for an item. Just as an example: I bought an engram from Xur, got a hunter helmet. Friend of mine got the Warlok helmet I wanted...bam...even trade, we are both happy. I also have "The Last Word" that dropped, and I proably never use. It would be nice to trade it for something I may use.
