This isn't going to happen. The reason is simply that the game that Destiny is and was meant to be is not a game that would be played locally or with split screen. Just like other multiplayer online games do not lend themselves to those features. You may be better off waiting for a game that has those specific features that you and your wife can enjoy.

What do you mean by don't lend themselves to those features? Sure technical limitations for the open world I understand, but why can't we have it in the crucible at least?

Edited by Zavala's powerful tusk: 9/1/2014 9:32:15 PMWell basically because they don't want to. That's simply not the game they set out to make. They want it to be an online experience. It has a lot of MMO aspects even though it isn't a true MMO. Just like WOW battlegrounds aren't split screen.

They didn't want to is about all I can go with. The other reasons you listed I don't follow. None of the supposed "MMO aspects" Destiny has preclude split screen. Online experience? Split screen crucible is online. Technical issues with the servers in explore mode I can understand with all the phasing and public events etc... The comparison to BGs makes no sense either. Partly because WoW is a PC game. But even if it were on consoles it would still be enhanced by things like dungeons, BGs and Arenas were split screen.

I guess all I can say is obviously those features are not things that they had in mind for Destiny. There's really no debate to be had. I mean you can continue to argue the point that you believe those features would enhance the game overall. Even if you are correct, it won't happen. At least not at launch. I say this not caring if I end up being wrong and they sneak these things in. I just don't see it happening.

I don't expect it by launch or soon really but I want to keep the discussion alive :).

I can't fault you for that. You never know, it could be that one of the later DLCs include some or all of these ideas.
