He wasn't the worst, but he was way too extreme in saying that all hype is bad, nothing is that black and white.
Also picking on an institute like IGN seemed like a really cheap tactic to make his point sound internet legit.
If a game fails to meet your standard due to the excitement you created than you set unrealistic standards, and as this guy mentioned, you let it get the better of your emotions.
However, from what I've seen of IGNs coverage, which I believe is everything, all they did is off gameplay from the devs and some staff, which will all be in the final release, as well as some interviews so you can blame them if you want, but that will just make you a baby that cannot take responsibility for itself.
