Possibly the traveller surrounded by darkness in the form of spheres like the traveller

Cool theory. Seems to make sense. It almost resembles the intro to the beta when it zoomed out and you saw the darkness swarm around the solar system.

That also sounds appropriate. It may be another faction symbol dealing in a religion or corporation based around these ideas
