I mean they have a standing army more than a million strong. Each member of that army can wade into battle outnumbered 100:1 and still win. Not only that but they are IMMORTAL. Killing a guardian only pisses them off.
No worries your city is protected by millions of immortal juggernauts. With magical powers to boot.

Edited by DillonGrave: 8/14/2014 12:37:59 AMIn the beginning there was nothing and that's how the darkness liked it and then the big bang happen ed and someone turned on the light. And that pissed off the darkness now it scours the galaxy hunting those who use the power of the light to extinguish it once and for all. But that's just my opinion there's no need to go spreading it around.

Quite the statement coming from someone bearing the emblem of Dead Orbit...hopefully the day never comes where we see your question put to the test.
-
OP is right. Guardians can not die. Why we have seen dead ones in game is a bit confusing. Its just a matter of time. As long as Guardians get up every day and kick ass then come back the Tower/City to rest ( if they actually have a need too???) Humanity, or the ones who fight with Light, can not possibly lose. Enterprise J
-
not imortal, if a guardians light is taken there is nothing to revive, thats what hapened to all the dead ghosts you find in explore
-
There not immortal as soon as the darkness arrives guardians can't respawn anymore
-
Traveler makes Guardians. Darkness makes other things like guardians.
-
There could be something more...
-
A giant bomb could destroy the last city "Sir, permission to leave the station." "What for Master Chief?" "To give the Covenant back there bomb."
-
According to the beta numbers, 4.6 million in that army ;D
-
I'd be worried for the fact that somehow out of all the planets in our solar system we are devastated to one little city on one little planet.
-
Aren't guardians like The Crow!? You kill the Ghost you kill the man?
-
I think that before us, the Traveler payed the Fallen a visit as well. I mean they had their own Golden Age too.....
-
Because even if we have 100:1 odds, then we face an army roughly 100,000,000 strong. Earth in present day is a civilization of roughly 7 billion, and we have 3 civilizations and an army of time-traveling robots likely coming from another civilization that we are fighting. It's probably closer to 1,000,000:1
-
The Darkness can stop respawn. You see what the Darkness did the first time. One city and a broken Traveller won't hold a flame to it.
-
They can kill the ghosts(you find dead ghosts everywhere) The traveler is getting weaker everyday. The datkness' army is growing more than ours....we have 3 races ...they have 4
-
Edited by Sacred: 8/13/2014 12:57:14 PMbecause the traveler is about to die and then we have no more reviving. And the fact the darkness allrdy destroyed the majority of humanity.
-
We are fake immortals. If we die we have to wait for our fellow guardians to help the ghost revive us. If not then we get consumed by the darkness.
-
Imagine how many Fallen there are..... have you ever seen them not resupply their forces in the Cosmodrome.......and that's only the House of Devils, House of Kings, House of Wolves, whoever those Moon Fallen work for. Then you have the Hive. Probably Millions Strong....could be billions. Blood of Oryx, Spawn of Crota...... Then you have the Cabal, hundred of thousands of Warrior like aliens several times bigger than a man, strong enough to throw Guardians about, etc. Then you have the Vex.... suspected time traveling robots, who know how advanced and how numerous...... It's not even about the Guardians. If one of those factions could breach the Last City would it even matter if a million guardians survived? Would you want to knowing you failed all of humanity in a World where the Darkness owns everything......
-
Cuz that's what worriers do
-
Tahahah! Immortal juggernauts! Nice.
-
Because mass genocide that is thousands of times bigger than the holocaust
-
ITs a killing party.

Edited by donquixote13: 8/12/2014 6:35:12 AMDead guardians are revived by ghosts by creating mass from "The Light". If there is "The Darkness", your ghost is unable to resurrect you. That is why you don't respawn when there is "the darkness". Without a guardian to provide "light", the ghost will eventually lose their Light and succumb to the darkness, that is why we see dead ghosts. They stay dead and will only reactivate if they come in contact again with "the light", which is your guardian. Guardians and ghosts diminish in number. They are not entirely immortal and all powerful. That is why we need more to join the fight.

Edited by ShadowNinja77: 8/13/2014 4:38:37 AMThe Darkness is Sithis incarnate though apparently, plus theirs 3 other armies that hate the last city & everyone not a guardian isn't as powerful, after-all it fought The Traveler & humanity at it's finest - it must be powerful. We'll see why it is so powerful come Sept. 9th - also not to mention not every guardian is high level - it ranged, i'm sure we all recall the rare sight & soon immediate getting crushed by Level "??" enemies
