I've been racking my brain thinking about whether each class (warlock, Hunter, Titan) would get a third subclass in the element that they don't have yet (Arc Warlock, Solar/Thermal Titan, Void Hunter). In considering whether they would exist, I have noticed some patterns in how the elements are used, especially in supers:
Arc light - Closed Quarter combat/Melee focused (Blade Dancer/Striker)
Solar/Thermal Light - Individual (possibly timed) buffing, whether offense or defensive (Gunslinger/Sunsinger)
Void Light - Area of Effect, whether to damage or buff (Defender/Voidwalker)
So I've been trying to come up with what each of these supposedly "missing" subclasses would be able to do and have come up with the following:
Arc Warlock with a "Force" Lightning like super that would chain (Makes you get up close and personal to enemies to be effective).
Solar/Thermal Titan with a timed defensive buff of solar energy similar to increase defense, but with option to send out the armor in a big burst of energy to damage nearby enemies if detonated within time limit (think of Mass Effect 2&3's Tech Armor ability). This gives the Titan a buffing subclass that somewhat mixes the Golden Gun and Radiance abilities.
Void Hunter (edited) - Incorporate the Blink/Vanish abilities from the Hunters other subclasses and allow for a Defender-like AoE where if fellow Guardians pass through this "field" of Void light they will be temporarily invisible to enemies.
Do you guys agree at all or have other ideas for how these subclasses could fit in with their associated classes? Or are you completely fine with the 2 subclasses per class that we have been given so far.
