It would add a great deal more satisfaction to upgrading your character and ship if other players could see who's character/ship belonged to whom during the loading sequences and the beginning of Crucible matches. As it stood in the Beta, nobody knew who was who. Thanks!
UPDATE: Some people are confused by the title. As I mention in the summary above, I am suggesting having players' Gamertags appear next to their characters during the intro to Crucible matches and next to their ships while in orbit and while traveling. I am not saying this needs to occur during campaign cinematic sequences, as your character is all you see.

Thoughts?
-
Why not.

It might just be me, but when I first played crucible in the beta we got to ring alongside other ships before landing on whatever planet, but at the end when I had bought a new ship we only rode alongside for half a second before landing, not like before for a few seconds. Other than that I support this.

The cutscenes right now are specific to you the player, if you play alongside somebody in your fire team and start a story cinematic, it shows each respective player's character. Your buddy doesn't see you.

Honestly, and not tryiny to be offensive at all...but I'm not too fond of the display name above ships...I kinda like the intrigue of not knowing whos ship is whos...unless there in your party of course... Plus I feel having gamertags above the ships would diminish the cutscenes a bit...itd be the same feeling to me as if my gamertag was being displayed during cutscenes where my character is displayed...would just seem kind of odd... Though I spose if maybe the loading screens were more interactive you itd be cool to move your cursor over peoples ship and see whos it is if u really wish...
-
Perhaps the gamer tag/PSNID and/or the players emblem should be displayed on the ship rather that floating next to it.
-
Next to ship (loading screen), yes. Next to characters during cinematics, no. I don't think you see others during cinematics anyway.
-
Hell Yes
-
Good idea! Anytime multiple characters are on the screen gamer tags should definitely be shown
-
I had this thought as well, but forgot to make a thread. +1

I like this idea. I'm for it. But, I'd much rather see them do something to make the star ships play a larger role in the game. This might not be doable in the month until launch, but It would be nice to see my ship function as more than simply something new to look at during the (too long) loading screens. I don't care if its just to play an "ASTEROID" minigame.
-
Agree!
-
If you show peoples gamer tags then it wont be cinematic. : (

Best way to fix this would be the option to say, hold down the select button and everyone in the cinematic loading screen would have their emblem followed by their nametag/gametag hovering over their ship. When you release the button, the gametags fade.

Edited by Seven: 8/6/2014 8:48:10 AMEven better, the loading screen for PvP should imitate a movie sequence where it showcases the players and ships one by one on their respective team. That way when the team lands on the planet holding the flag you'll know who's who. And I think it'd look cool.
-
I wish they could add all fireteam characters into the cutscenes(not with their names) to make it more immersive
-
You have my approval, if and only if PSN ID's are included as well.
-
I agree, since ship is cosmetic and all if im riding a legendary, i want ppl to know lol
-
This is a great idea, like @winter1338 said you want to show off what you have. +1
-
Absolutely.
-
I'm actually pretty alright without the names on it because it takes away from the aesthetics. However, when I'm about to jump into a match (i.e., in a fireteam awaiting a mission, jumping into a match, etc.), cool.
-
I feel like that would take away from the cinematic experience, just my opinion
-
I like it, but I have one good idea is when u in orbit u can move ship around well u wait or change the view at least like 360 degree move around. How about the inside the ship view.
-
If this were implemented, don't have it in a way where it's just a floating word. Make it holographic or fancy. I'm perfectly fine if it isn't implemented, but it wouldn't be right if it was included with a poor representation of the idea.

Edited by DarkSilver121: 8/9/2014 5:43:36 AMHmm... depends on how they make it look. I worry that it will ruin the look. I really enjoyed the loading sequences, though the fly-ins could be rather long at times. I can definitely say yes to having tags show during the crucible sequence, perhaps under the characters feet. I just don't want to to look tacked on. Another solution I would like is to have the menu cursor available, so that you can pass over everyone to see their tags that way.

Yeah!!! Agree.
