Music Volume?

Am I the only one who wishes that it was possible to turn the music down or completely off? http://youtu.be/HfAlUY-IGUM Please add audio/music volume controls to the game.

  • Agreed, sometime the music is nice, sometime it is awful, and it is the same problem in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, we can't lower the music and keep hearing our Specter or the other Mission PNJ ... I can't understand why Bungie want to force us to listen their music and why they didn't make a separation between music, sound effect, voice like on all games... They really should fix this to make the game more comfortable...

  • This was the second option I looked for after aim sensitivity and I was shocked by its absence. I just want to crank the music volume up because I don't want to listen to any of you or the game FX.

  • I want this so bad so I can listen to MY music while doing raids, crucible, and glimmer farming. It could all be so much better for the latter 2. And I'd be more pumped for raids, without having to mute the game entirely and plug my phone into my sound system that way.

    • I have a head set that controls in game volume and chat volume so it's not much of a problem for me, but i agree, volume controls would be nice

    • Bump. I find it hard to hear others with the 'dramatic' music so loud. I don't need blaring music to tell me Im in a boss battle. They aren't hard to miss. Its one of the first things I adjust when I game and its weird Destiny has no option to. Its annoying. Ever turn down the radio in your car when you need to communicate directions with a passenger?

    • Oh there's already a thread about this. Yeah... The music is great cinematic pastiche. I wish I could make it stop. I love hearing game audio. I hate being assaulted by music I didn't choose to listen to when I am trying to listen to game audio, let alone my friends trying to chat over it. This is the one thing stopping me from playing Destiny.

    • I have seen this type of thread in many locations and I for the life of me cannot understand: 1: Why these controls were not in the game to start with. 2: Why they are not in the game now, since people have brought it to bungie's attention and waited patiently for this to happen. I personally normally get into a game a go straight to the audio settings and turn off the music. I am not a big music fan for starters but we are playing a game where hearing a MOB can save your life. Not to mention that my expensive headset is pretty much useless and I either have to play the game with no sound (if kids are sleeping), or with sound out of the TV, and the crappy PS4 standard earpiece instead which is pretty damn annoying. The music is so loud in boss fights usually that you simply cannot wear headsets because you cannot hear other people in your fire team. I honestly couldn't tell you if it is annoying in raids or not since I have played like this from the second day of playing the game. Which is pretty disappointing since I would love to have my headset up so loud that I get deafened from explosions near me. And we do need both a slider and an on off toggle (useless the slider goes to 0) because I know of people that really like the music and find it adds to their atmosphere when playing the game, thats great for them but even they say they would like to be able to turn it down.

      • I know this works on the Xbox 360 put in a flash drive start up destiny then press the home button go over to select music pick a song then pause it and now you can listen to game audio without game music or you can listen to your own music that way if you want

      • I want this so I can turn the volume of the music up to 11. Destiny`s OST is so -blam!-ing awesome, it`s a crime to turn it off.

      • Yes very annoying to not be able to hear during attacks. Repetitive music giving me headaches.

Actually. As someone with a broken headset and had to use the kinect mic for the beta, I would of appreciated some slides. When I was shooting a gun I couldn't hear a thing. I plan to get a headset for launch, but the option would be nice.

        • I wish too, I like to feel like I am in the world so in real life you don't have bgm unless you use your mp3 player which I do if I am farming. I wish you could turn it off cause it makes hearing the sound cues of nearby loot and stuff easier.

I really nope that this opinion get added. I love the music in Destiny but it's annoying that I can't adjust it's level independently.

        • Bungie, volume control would be a wonderful thing to have. There are players out there who like to be as immersed as possible when they play.

        • Yes, quite annoying. I usually turn the sound down so low that I may as well turn it off completely.

        • This is insanity. As a person with a severe hearing impairment I basically can't use a headset because the music blows out my eadrums and I can't understand anything else. Sure as hell not a human being trying to talk to me. Basically no sound and all voice or no voice and TV sound. -blam!-ing stupid.

          • The Sony Wireless headphones are great, not only can you control the overall volume but also the balance between chat and game. This is not really a solution to your problem, but it does mean you can give priority to your team.
