What's the download times like on the Ps4 because if they're anything like the Ps3 you will be starting with the Xbox users?

I have a PS4 and the Alpha took me about an hour.

lol ikr, ever download DCUO on ps3........
-
you can set the PS4 to stay connected to the internet on standby. so i just set it to download over night for the alpha and will be most likely doing the same on the beta

Yes I forgot about that, although a sugar coated fix to a deeper problem that will be fixed over time. I do prefer downloading games as I'm terrible at looking after discs. It is irritating having to wait for downloads, but as I can remember the time before the internet was mainstream, well, before PlayStation existed. I do know how to appreciate a good cup of tea while I wait. Give it a few more years and these irritable bowels will be something of the past.

Under high load it's still pretty godawful. I have FiOS 60/40 too, so it's not on me. Downloading the Alpha was a process, had to restart the download twice as it started to crawl. The One admittedly hasn't given me a single hitch when it comes to such things, even launch day all downloads were speedy. PSN will get there in time, but it's not there yet when it comes to consistency.

Thanks Yama I appreciate the unbiased response... I think that clinches my decision nicely.
-
Haha, well they're not that slow, actually PSN has improved a lot lately.

I can't get a straight response to this... I've had an Xbox live account for the past 8 years and it was always what kept me with an Xbox as the PS3 was always a little disastrous in that respect, slow and flimsy. I would like to know how the PlayStation Network is running these days. Does it match the speed and the stability of Xbox live since Sony have been charging for the service, or is it still a little dicey?

The Alpha only took me 25 minutes to download. I don't remember how big the alpha was though.

It was 6.7GB
