who is the most powerful Jedi / Sith?
I decided to rewatch the star wars movie and this question came in mind.. Who, in your opinion is the strongest Jedi / Sith and why? I'm not sure what my answer would be because I really need to read the books and learn more about Darth Revan and a few others but for now, from the movies, I'm going to go with Darth Sidious since he managed to cloud the Jedi's foresight capabilities, including Yoda's. What are your thoughts?

going off the movies, Sidious or Darth Vader. Going off the EU...I dont know much, but from what I do know, Obiwan is actually a badass!

He even took control of Revan and Malak. Darth Nihilus is similar, but not quite as strong. Sidious is another contender, at least due to his manipulation. Then guys like Exar Kun, Marka Ragnos, and Bane have all been ruling Sith. The Jedi aren't as clear cut. Nobody really sticks out to me. Luke Skywalker is up there. Hero of Tython, maybe. He killed Lord Vitiate. Revan is extremely powerful as well. Yoda could be the wisest/best example of a Jedi.

Sith: In terms of strength, I'm tempted to say Darth Bane, who was quite the warrior. In terms of power, it is hard to say, but it would probably not be Sidious, even though he is supposed to be the culmination of thousands of years of training and learning. I don't actually know much of EU Sidious other than his cloning fiascos and a little about his origins. Darth Nihilus could consume entire worlds and the only person who was capable of beating him was the Outcast of KOTOR II, so he seems very powerful. If you count such things as what they control outside of their own abilities, Sidious certainly had quite a bit of power in the Empire, but there have been other Empires. Jedi: I honestly don't know. People like Hoth, Yoda, Obi-Wan, and *sigh* Luke have all been powerful and strong, but nobody really pops out as being the strongest or the most powerful. It's been a while since I've gone into Star Wars EU lore, so I'm sure I've missed a lot.
