Posted by: Sliding Ghost I can easily exit H2 with the Windows logo key to close the browser. Plus, Steam is a bit too much just to play 1 game.
Google Chrome just takes up way too many resources to justify using it while playing games. Also, it's not like you're going through that much of a hassle when downloading Steam. Everybody who plays any amount of PC games ought to have a Steam account now.
As for music, well, let's just say I have a prescription. I prefer speakers because headphones are a bit too awkward... I can't use my stereo player since I live in an apartment and it's sound radius is just not very effective.
Then plug the speakers into your MP3 player or use your Xbox/360 as a music player coming through the television at the same audio levels as your speakers. Both of those are problems you're creating. It has nothing to do with inconvenience towards PC gaming or Halo 2 Vista. While it is an unoptimized piece of crap, you'd have issues with just about any game doing the same thing. It's like someone complaining it's a restaurant's fault that they gained weight after ordering 50 bowls of brownies topped with ice cream.
Posted by: General Heed Here's the thing, I'm almost positive that the issues with Halo 2 and Windows 7 are a result of OEM installs which may have weird drivers. The OEM install of Windows 7 on my Alienware laptop couldn't run Halo 2 Vista. But then a clean install of Windows 7 using a retail copy, ran Halo 2 Vista just fine on the exact same hardware.
I never knew testing something out 1 time gave you a definitive answer. I guess people are silly for thinking it's necessary to test things multiple times before spreading around that they know the answer to a problem. Guess who has a clean install of Windows 7 on his PC? Guess who still has issues such as mouse lag, frame rate drops, etc with Halo 2 Vista? Guess who was using a retail copy? Again, stop going with the "It works for me so therefore it should work for everyone" approach. You remind me of a friend I used to have that told me I was lying when I said it was raining at my house when it wasn't at his.

By the way, for fun I decided to see about comparing different levels of detail in Halo 2 Vista to the Xbox version. This is what I got.
Halo 2 Xbox Halo 2 Vista Low Halo 2 Vista Medium Halo 2 Vista High
I don't see how you think medium settings is closer. In fact, all the different settings look so damn close I couldn't tell much difference until after I took all the screenshots. [Edited on 07.29.2012 5:57 PM PDT]
