I've been running windows 7 for a while now, and had no issues with Halo 2 on my machine. I had uninstalled H2 simply because i wasn't using it at the time (school/distractions). Now, i have gone back to re-install H2, and it is giving an appcrash error at startup.

From what i can gather, Halo2 isn't using compatibility mode correctly (or windows 7 isn't handling halo2 correctly :P)...which, if thats the case, then i'm probably screwed.
I have tried all manner of troubleshooting i know of (including the ones listed in the stickies.
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue, and if so, did you manage to get it working?

so, i decided to try something new... i uninstalled Windows live 12, and installed a backed up version of live 11 installer, and let it update... and now H2 launches perfectly . So, for some reason, the fresh release/install of "Windows live essentials 12" (wl mail, messenger, writer, movie maker, etc etc) does something to screw up H2... but the Windows live essentials 11, which updates to 12, allows H2 to work perfectly fine. So i guess an extra trouble shooting tactic can be reverting to older MS stuff :P
