How Would You React to First Contact with Aliens?
How would you react to first contact with aliens?
What would be your first move?
What would be your survival strategy?
If I just heard about first contact on the news:
Personally getting out of cities as soon as possible will be my first move. I'm usually very much in the news/media loop so hopefully I will get a slight jump on others who are less aware of global events and be able to get out of the city before massive traffic congestion problems arise. I'd pack bicycles (in-case of traffic and other obstacles.) water, canned food, transistor radios and probably head out into the bush-land (I live in South Australia.)
EDIT: Should have specified the contact. I mean [b]ANY[/b] contact with aliens. Even if peaceful. That would still be my course of action due to massive social ramifications such as riots, religious nuts, stock market crash etc.
Let's just say that the contact was a sequence of prime numbers from radio waves in space.

If I was presented with undeniable proof that we did indeed make peaceful contact with aliens (or the other way around), I'd say,"Oh, OK." and go back to what I was doing. If it was hostile, I'd say,"Huh, that sucks." Either way, it doesn't matter what I do. Might as well not let it affect me for as long as possible while any problems are worked out. If the aliens come for me, I'd probably just go with them. Or fight them if they mean to kill me.
