Posted by: ROBERTO jh Acknowledging that there is a problem doesn't fix it; obviously he got out, no one had to tell us this. You still have a problem. If anything, reason would dictate that that's even worse. You acknowledge a problem and don't even bother trying to fix it? That's laziness right there.
Of course acknowledging it doesnt fix the problem because that not the point of that. Acknowledging tells the player that something did happen but they isnt time now to tell that story so move that to the back of the head for a later date. The game doesnt leave you with a question the game tells you that there is an answer coming.
And what, exactly, did 343i not even address? They addressed the Covenant problem in Halo 4, and gave more than enough hints and clues towards what was going on for someone to figure it out with some thought.
The there were only 2 sentences in the whole game coming from two of the only people in the whole game who have been out of the loop since the last game. Hardly anyone would consider that enough to build anything from. I knew squat about the books so those two little sentences flew by during the first playthrough as they offered nothing so i had ZERO info on anything dealing with the Covenant along with a whole mess of other people that flooded the boards, and some still do, when it came to dealing with this storyline.
All of the plot points brought up about the Didact that were necessary to the story were all explained, if not through the campaign, than the terminals. I just don't get what was so hard to figure out about it.
The Didact was explained through the terminals which is a problem as you need to go searching around AFTER to completed the story TO understand the story. The books, the terminals, the comic books should BUILD on the game story they shouldnt be a necessity to understand the game story.
Finally, Johnson is important, as he is the only living anchor to humanity for the Chief, and his best friend.
We are talking about in game alone and in game alone he was none of those things as far as i remember. And that whole 117's humanity deal surely comes from Halo 4 because that storyline NEVER existed in the games. [Edited on 01.08.2013 12:34 PM PST]
