Did a little research on Bravo's new job
343 Industries is looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for creating and perfecting online multiplayer experiences. The qualified candidate will be responsible for working with an existing design and sustain team to help maintain and support Halo's existing multiplayer experiences, as well as the future implementation of new experiences. Additional responsibilities include hopper management and synthesizing community feedback and player data to inform gameplay recommendations. As a member of the Sustainment Team, you will get to interface with community members, designers, Franchise Management and test teams, so legendary communication and organizational skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Sustainment Team to maintain multiplayer experiences by recommending optimizations based on community feedback and player data
- Work across several additional teams to ensure quality
- Provide regular formal and informal matchmaking updates to the community across multiple channels
- Maintain a healthy relationship with the community and its varied subsets
- Represent Halo and 343 at community and industry events
Bravo has a Computer Science degree for those who think he's unqualified.
Posted by: westpointusma15
Posted by: BR131 This thread is full of two kinds of people: 1. People who know who he is and know that he is gonna help. 2. People who just see "MLG guy hired to change game" and complain about stuff they know nothing about. /fact
You can't hire a player to help balance a game. It would be like hiring a hockey player to write the new rules of the sport. They're biased with their own playstyles. If the player likes playing physical, then they'll add in a little more leeway for what is allowed, and so on. I don't even have Halo 4 yet and I know that getting "professional" players involved with a game is not a good thing
Except that's not how it works. I'm sure they can overcome their bias and give objective analyses. You know, like football players asked to be coaches, or really any job where you promote an existing employee to a management position. Your logic fails when applied to reality, unfortunately.

I think I'm glad I don't know who this is.
-
Halo is a lost cause now. Nothing will save it.
-
Are people honestly butthurt over one person being hired at 343i? Stay classy, flood.
-
I don't get why people are assuming he, and he alone will be affecting the gameplay, the team is still the same team that brought out Halo 4, with 1 extra person. He might be able to help pull the game in a more competitive direction but I don't expect much.
Posted by: randomrosso
Posted by: Xbl Vejer Lol @ all the women developing a game about war, shooting, and killing. Just goes to show how strong the feminist agenda is within 343i. I'm surprised they let Bravo on the team, him not having a vag and all...
Are you actually that retarded?
Ooh, insulted. Not like you can come up with a clear argument, right? Oh so silly Reachtards and 343bots. When will you learn that you're all plebs...

Getting help from someone who knows the flow of the gameplay and weapon balance as opposed to just the programming part is helpful.
That's what I'm saying. What he sees as an improvement in balance in the game as a whole might not be seen that way for other casual or competitive players since they all have their own ideas for balance. Basically, there's no way to balance a game. People with always complain about it so might as well save money and not hire random people as consultants
Posted by: omg a bannana Someone got a job helping uncasualize a game, let's all be mad!
Well, that is one of the most general posts I've seen. Ever.

Good to see a new face in the gaming industry. Can't wait to get on the inside someday, but as of right now that will have to wait.

Finally we get someone who enjoys competition instead of video game nerds who don't have a competitive bone in their bodies.
MLG people are video game nerds. Also, 343 already had MLG people approve and test the balance and flow of the game during development.
