I was going to use the search bar to see if there were any recent topics about this topic, but that's the thing, the search bar doesn't show anything RECENT.
While looking up ANYTHING in the 'forums' search bar you don't get any results in 2012, rarely any past 2011. Most are from 2010 or before.
Is there a reason for this? Am I doing it wrong? Has anyone found the same?

This thread makes me want to open an alcohol-serving establishment named "The Search Bar".
Posted by: The search_bar You called?
Surprisingly, not an account created just to troll this thread. Probably.

I heard Bungie nerfed the search bar, à la BR-spread style, to balance the website. Search bar spread. [Edited on 12.05.2012 9:38 PM PST]

Just use google

You called?

Add a little humour to my post.

Achronos has stated in the past that this feature is very important. I'm sure the web team will have a way you can search, sort, and/or filter content.

Search function on this website has always been terrible.
Posted by: POKEY CLYDE
Posted by: Helveck Google is actually more accurate than the search bar, I find. And I'm not kidding. Usually typing in keywords and authors spawns a lot of relevant results.
Huh, never thought about that. I'll do that from now on I guess. Search bar is still broken though.
Yep. Type in bungie.net forum searchquery searchquery and you will get what you need. like bungie.net forum Stosh cat or bungie.net forum VII Toast
-
I'm assuming they'll fix it up in the next big update to the site.
-
What they need is a search bar within a thread. I mean if there is a MASSIVE thread, it get's annoying to look for that one post, the one post that made you save the damn thread.
-
yep, the search bar is pretty useless. Hopefully it's something they fix for bungie.next.
-
It's been useless for me too. I had not checked the date of its responses though.
-
I assume it's one of the many things to be fixed in Bungie.next.
-
It's not that it doesn't show anything recent, it's that it doesn't work. I can search for the exact title of a thread and that thread won't even show up, let alone be one of the first few results. ©

Fix your damn game... I mean search bar, Bungie!
Agreed. Also I find it usful using this format when searching on google: whatever you want searched site:www.bungie.net As long as you have "site:www.bungie.net" at the end it searches for anything on that domain. Probably when bungie.next is implemented the search function will be updated. Not quite sure why it's not resulting anything from 2012. [Edited on 12.04.2012 5:34 PM PST]

I have no idea why it takes so long to update. Typing in some keywords on Google works though.

Reminds me of all the posts back when the Halo 3 forum was active and everyone posted "search bar". I personally use Google/Bing as my bungie.net search bar. Cryptic made a great thread on how to improve the search bar for an update. However, it also throws up some great reasoning for brainstorming. I rarely use it because other web engines are much more efficient.
-
Same here. I looked up "The search bar," and one of the first results was from the Optimatch Forum. Nothing after 2 years ago.
