Destiny is the future. What is yours?

Please don't regard the following as the main idea, I just find it necessary to explain my position. I've given 343 the most hope I could. I expected halo 4 to be a letdown. Instead, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the campaign, even though there lingered little of the thrill I experienced in Halo: CE to Halo: Reach. I tried the multiplayer. And please, it doesn't matter if you agree or not, it's not important to you, or me. I was let down. Not because I'm bad at it, my first game was a cool and easy 30-12 positive. It was bland, and tailored in the wrong direction. I respect your opinion if you say you enjoy the multiplayer, however it is undeniable 343 has let go the element of Halo and has rammed a CoD components into it. That is solely what I dislike. I would say I enjoyed the game, however was rather disappointed. I found it unfortunate they mixed up such a great game. Halo 4 has its strong points, but as multiplayer is the most important part of a game, I believe by average, it's fallen short. No, not the multiplayer mechanics, but rather the reason 343 decided to mash CoD components into it. So! Following the beginning of Destiny... Are you distancing yourself from Halo and 343, or do you plan to? I believe primarily, there will be two kinds of people. First, those who are disappointed with Halo 4 and 343 will rejoin Bungie such as those mentioned above, perhaps buying or even renting just one or two more halo titles, And others, who will be enjoying both. Bungie has been gone for too long. You know my choice. What's yours? Please respect opinions from both sides, (as this is the community forum, not the flood. BOOM!). Opinions of those who will continue to enjoy the great halo saga, still undeniably a great game, and those who have simply decided Halo under 343 has changed too much to be "Halo" for them. • Cant judge a game off some pictures 'IGN' gave me. Hope Bungie doesn't let IGN dictate the PR the whole time.

It's simply a matter of allegiance. I also believe there we all have a strong idea of what Bungie can give and produce. There is always a certain kind of intuition everyone has. While I completely agree, you can't predict if you'll like a game or not, some basic intuition can tell you if some game mechanics will simply be stupid, so you won't have to play the whole game to know. Accordingly, I have a good idea of what Bungie can produce, even if it's not just a simple game mechanic. [Edited on 11.28.2012 9:19 PM PST]

 • I've given up on Halo for now, at least till Bungie picks it up again sometime in the far future. I'm hoping Bungie goes all out for Destiny for the time being

It is just sad to me that I learned about the new game from an outside site. A personal let down. That is all.

 • On the first day of Halo 4 I played as good as I expected...as I always have. Typical average of 27-9. A few days later something happened to where I was going 12-12 almost every game. Don't know what it was but something changed. I guess I haven't gotten a good feel of the maps or what but something's up. No Halo game will compete with my nostalgic Halo 2(which still isn't on the dashboard for download!!!). Simply put, no Halo will replace the fond memories from Halo 2. As for Destiny. I'm looking forward to it. I want to come back to the world of Bungie again. In fact that's why I'm on here now. Hopefully Bungie delivers with this game and I can get similar nostalgia from playing Destiny as I did from Halo 2.

 • I'm gonna stay with Bungie no matter what. They are one of my favourite game companies and always will be. As a matter on 343, we'll see. I enjoy what they did with Halo 4. I see what you're getting at with the CoD elements, but it still has a good feel to the game. Hopefully they won't screw up the storyline. Either way, excited to see what Bungie has in store for us.

 • I love Halo, but I'm more a fan of Bungie than anything. I haven't played Halo 4 yet nor have I felt any real want/desire to because it's not Bungie's baby. Destiny, on the other hand, I am quite eager for, even with as little as we actually know about it.

I, much like eagle, try to set reasonable expectations. I expect the game to be good because it is made by bungie, but I do not yet expect anything else. On another note, I like halo four, not because I like call of duty (far from it) but because I Expected 343 to try to appeal to a broader audience and expand on the multiplayer. I have gripes here and there but any game will have flaws.

 • Halo 4's story and campaign was the biggest let down for me, i will get 343's future halo games but i wont be really excited for them. 343's era of halo so far is lackluster big time. My attention will be on destiny from now til release, i know how brilliantly bungie can tell stories so im confident destiny will be the same.

 • I love the Halo Universe, I have since it first came out, but Halo 4 was a let down to me. I'll still read the books because I love the lore and play the campaigns at my friends house, but I doubt I'll buy another game.

 • Tbh, I did feel a difference when playing Halo 4's campaign. It was a strange feeling. I was looking at Halo tropes, but was getting a different energy. I knew it was a good energy 'cause I was smiling. 343 did something different, and I was thoroughly impressed. For me, I've never been more emotionally invested in the story. By as early as the second level I was utterly immersed in the journey, and it felt weird to be because that's not happened before, not to the same degree. They also got the core gameplay down. It's extremely polished, and fun. I hope, now they've gotten the key Halo polish down, that they really push in Halo 5. I want more radical scenarios. I will stick with 343, for sure. I love Halo, and will follow it for as long as it is around, and as long it's treated with love and care. Having said that, I am intrigued by Bungie's project. If I love the look of it I will certainly enjoy, and be inspired by, both franchises.

 • I choose Destiny, Halo 4 is good filler until it comes out, but it lacked the 'rewarding feel' of completing an objective. I hope the gameplay of Destiny will be a simple, well thought process of kicking butt.

 • I enjoyed Halo 4. It has it's problems, but I still enjoy it. Just because a better game comes out (referring to Destiny), doesn't mean I'm going to bail on a series that I enjoy. That would be silly.

I have high hopes for Bungie right now, but you have to recognize something. For the past decade they only produced 1 type of game. I don't wanna sound like I'm bashing them, because I'm not. All I wanna say is that Bungie has been on the Halo wagon for quite a time now. I enjoyed all of their halo games, but it is proven that some people will still like a halo game regardless of whether it is a good game or not. Now is the closest thing to a fresh start Bungie can get. They've proven to be innovative, very good at captivating an audience, and can tell a great story. Now, their big test is to see how well the can handle producing a new title after so long. As a gaming company, I respect Bungie very highly, and I already hold very high expectations for their next game. Whether or not it is enjoyed will be completely up to how I myself enjoy the game once it is out. If I don't like it, I won't play it anymore, if I do I will probably play the heck out of it. When it is all said and done, even if Destiny were to suck I'd still go and try their next game with new hopes that it would be better. Also, I enjoyed myself with Halo 4. There are quite a few areas that could be improved, and I hope they might be addressed with the next game. I will stay with Halo, and Bungie. [Edited on 12.01.2012 9:37 AM PST]

 •
Posted by: Kivell Playing Halo 4 made me realize that I am much more of a Bungie fan than a Halo fan.
This. There is some intangible qualities within a game that reflect the developers that created it. Bungie creates games they want to play, and I played each Halo game til the next was released. Halo 4, on the other hand, has already run its course for me. It has glimmers of good things, but nothing lasting or intriguing enough to play much longer. So here I sit, waiting for Destiny...
