Between Halo 3 and Halo 4

Could anyone explain to me what happened in between Halo 3 and Halo 4 or answer a few questions? 1. Why is John killing elites and grunts when the war is over? 2. Why all the new spartan suits?(im guessing they took covenant technology but why make so many different ones) 3. Why do the forerunners have so many different robots that we've never seen before? 4. What exactly is the Planet Requiem

 • A lot of the back story of Halo 4 comes from the books. 1. Humans fueled a civil war for the Elites. The two sides of the Elite civil war are the Arbiter's side and the not-Arbiter side--Elites that are mad because the Arbiter wants peace instead of trying to wipe out the Human race. The Humans supply to not-Arbiter side weapons to fight the Arbiter. Since they're busying fighting and killing themselves, they don't try to kill humans and everybody is happy. The Elite leader of the Elites and Grunts we see Master Chief killing in the opening of Halo 4 are followers of Jul'Madma, an Elite who was on the Arbiter's side, then went to the not-Arbiter side, then got captured by Humans, and then escaped and found out his wife got killed. He finds out that there's a Forerunner (The Didact) who hates humans...and he learns that the Didact is on Requiem. This comes from Glasslands and The Thursday war and it's very complicated. 4. Requiem is a Forerunner dyson sphere--more or less a planet that the Forerunners built. They built planets to shield what was on the planets from the firing of the Halo array. Forerunners like making planets because they can. 3. Because we use to only fight the Covenant and sentinels/monitors were usually on our side. Also because we've never been to a Forerunner planet until this game. 2. The new "generation" of SPARTANs are SPARTAN-IV's. The customization is probably just because customization is fun. •
Posted by: ChemicalKW47 2. Why all the new spartan suits?(im guessing they took covenant technology but why make so many different ones)
Haha, I called this out back when it was announced that Halo 3 would have a bunch of new suits. I thought.. *flashback* mrmrm.. Ok, but only like five, I know where this is going; for every new game, people will expect even more. First we had colours, then emblems, then new suits, then super customisable suits, then so many suits it feels like most of them were added just for the sake of it, what am I even looking at anymore, is that a horn? Oh, look, there's the suit from Vanquished! I'm actually really excited to se what they'll do next (not sarcastic), will they add even more suits, what's the next step? I'm really curious to see. Btw, wouldn't it be cool if one could choose or remove which suits one wanted to see other players wear? For those who prefere vanilla? [Edited on 11.04.2012 9:36 AM PST]

A small faction called the Storm was isolated from the main events on a distant planet, remaining fervent to the Covenant religion. They were visited by a badass cliche Elite who became their leader; he fell out of the sky. 6 months later, their numbers are huge (Covie veterans and new recruits make up a large chunk of it) and they stumble across FuD. 2. Most Spartan IVs missed out on Halloween. It's compensation. 3. Because the Flood encountered in the trilogy were vastly inferior to the ones in the Flood-Forerunner War. Enforcers, Sentinel Majors, spec ops Covie teams, and one man armies were good enough to deal with them. We didn't see Strato Sentinels or Guardian Sentinels either, as they were cut from Halo 3. 4. Some say it's a prison. Others think it hides a weapon. I say it's a giant transformer. One thing is for certain, Storm is looking for one of their gods on the shield world.
This is pretty much what happened. If you want to know what happened in depth, read Glasslands or Thursday War.

 •
Posted by: ferrrari 1. John (UNSC) is fighting a rogue faction of the covies, bit like the innies and the UNSC. The Aribter, Rtas and his bros still got our back. 2. There have always been many diffrent versions of spartan armour, look how different noble team was. 3. The forerunners have a lot of -blam!- we ain't seen before! 4. It's a shield world, where the halo array cannot kill the people inside, it's also the bed and breakfast of a certain Commander of a certain ancient race (forerunners). We saw one in halo wars, as well as the planet onyx...
Fix'd.
