Is This Wrong?
Today at lunch, I told everyone that I sit with, if I happened to have a mentally retarded child, I'd probably give it up for adoption. What is your opinion on this?
I honestly don't think I'd be able to handle and/or take care of a retarded child. And I don't mean physically retarded or slightly mentally challenged, I mean full on non-functional.

If you seriously couldn't take care of him/her, then you would be in the right. I wouldn't abort it if I were in your shoes. Not trying to spark anything here but I don't believe in abortions. Nuff said, try nicely to do the best for this kid.

It's a harsh reality, but I think most parents would not want their child if it was in such a condition.

I would say it is the right thing to do if you do not feel you are capable of caring for a child with such needs. I personally would probably do the exact same thing.
