A while back i discovered in a private group that you can bypass the profanity filter by surrounding said profanity with a certain type of bracket, now if we're not allowed to use profanity then why do we have the option to bypass it?

[-blam!-ing] didn't work

The should block Alt 0173
-
You don't even need the brackets or make the word messy.
-
They should blam out names that use profanity.

You can do it with alt codes too. I think it is because they didn't intend for you to put extra characters in it to bypass. It's like bypassing ass with a|ss. Same thing. One's just got an extra character that they didn't put into the filter. Either way I'm glad it is there. I hate seeing "-blam!-" everywhere.

It's obviously so people with out num pads (like me) can bypass the filter in private groups.

Do not abuse the BB code.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] Acres 057 Why? You know you're breaking the rules, and when you get banned, you'll already know why. [/quote]Why would you bump this? lol I only bypass the filter in groups. I prefer the -blam!- in most situations anyway, since it leaves a bit to the imagination.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] Yax That's not the only way to bypass it. And it's obviously not an intentional feature or anything. So it's not an "option", it's a cheat.[/quote] This ALT codes work as well. I wouldn't recommend using any bypass though.
