You should really put the same effort into meaningful content

Edited by twisted504boy: 2/11/2016 3:08:52 AMWhy the bloody -blam!-in hell is anyone paying for emotes. Every other mmo game I've played gives you like 50 emotes for free. Only bungie would be so greedy to charge their loyal fan base for bullshit like emotes.

Bungie "Content" Algorithm: 10 Create Eververse to sell Emotes to fund 'new content' 20 Sell Emotes for easy profit 30 Use a portion of said easy profit to create 'new content' (ie: more Emotes!)* 40 Go to 20 * Remaining profits go towards 'administrative fees' (ie: Harold Ryan's early retirement fund) It really seems like the only thing that microtransactions have actually brought to Destiny ... are more microtransactions.

You should really move onto another game. This one has been toast for a very long time and I'm not sure why you haven't seen that yet.

I'm going to admit I was one of the idiots to buy emotes when they first game out. And I absolutely deserve a lashing for it. So why did I? Well because Bungie said they would use that money to fund future content. Obviously wee see that's a complete sham and it was a money grab. I love the game, I love many games, but I never spent more time in a game than in destiny. So I thought I would sporty my addiction, and Bungie and hope for more content. Like I said, I now know that new content would not come to pass. I will never buy another emote again now. Ever. Another reason why I will never buy an emote. Because I started seeing the same emotes I bought dropping for people in crucible and such. Wtf?!? Why did I waste my money then? I could have just gotten them for free. I'm not against microtransactions when done right, these just aren't done right and were donee on false pretenses.

They are and they will - of this I am now absolutely certain !

Hotline was the only one i like other than that wast if time and resources. Today's up day was interesting, but not going to get excited yet
-
I'm just waiting for emotes to affect our light level.... And then shaders and emblems.... Bungie does love increasing the grind time.
-
wat? Hotline bling isn't meaningful to you?
-
When the Eververse came out I was under the impression that the profits from sales of emotes and things would go towards designing new content. Apparently all it actually goes towards is desinging more emotes.
-
I like how they gave us what was it 400 silver when it came out?But the good purple emotes are 500 lol
-
Unfortunately a lot of kids have no concept of the value of money as they just rely on mom and dad to fund their addictions. They will purchase this shit over and over again :-(
-
I have no idea how many brain dead buy the emotes as soon as they come out and dance away in the tower or crucible, I'm just sitting there like. Wow You just paid another 20.00 on a old ass game for a dance move ?

I am truly unable to understand why anyone would want to purchase emotes in Destiny. To me there is no quantifiable price for a single emote. Perhaps a pack of, but never a single. What makes one emote more expensive than another? Pop culture reference? I also am unable to understand why anyone would be okay with Bungie cashing in on pop culture. They had no hand in creating it, hell you probably consumed the original media for free to begin with yet Bungie can throw a price tag on it and it sells. That to me is loathsome. Eververse emotes is a shining beacon of what's wrong with Bungie. A cash grab veiled by the thinnest amount of 'content'.

In the grand scheme of life, dancing is way more important than saving the universe.

Edited by iDovahBear: 2/11/2016 4:58:38 PMIf they made an Emote that was something the Forums could relate to, like a Nerf Luke Smith Emote, that would probably sell pretty well actually. They can even make the quote for it "You'll throw money at the screen," ...and it would be perfect.

Edited by eEverchanger: 2/11/2016 5:02:42 PMFor real real, I thought Quests would save Y2, but I was wrong. There was only enough to keep people busy for a month. Then all the other games came out so my theory is Bungie did this on purpose to let other games have a profit. Or that was inevitable and they slacked on Quests so people would be inclined to play pvp, but lets be honest, no one really wants to play pvp they just do it for fun or salt.

Edited by Pack93z: 2/11/2016 3:06:32 PMLow hanging fruit that can drive revenue and presents some sort of content to investors and players. Key is that it can drive revenue.. cash is key.

I want a dab emote bungie.
-
The truth is, that all it takes is one animator to make emotes.
-
LOL If they put the same amount of effort into new content that they put into emotes, wouldn't it just mean there would be an icon for a new mission on Earth but when you click it, it does nothing? Or they would put a hidden exotic item in the kiosk, then take it away saying it was a bug... Oh wait... What??? Or they would re-release year 1 gear into a game so starved for content players would lap it up and... Oh wait... What???
-
They are. More of there workers are working on Destiny 2, hence why their updates are running slower than usual...
-
It keeps making them money, so they keep pumping them out.
-
Bump.

Preach it.
