Played a lot with them lately, trying out various models.
IF they work, they are pretty good at what they should do. However, damage registration seems too random. In one game I smoke people running at me, in other games they shrug off the damage and still have half health left when they shotgun/TLW you in the face.
Any fusion lovers out there?

Love 'em, but the dispersion is too iffy beyond melee range. 16 months after they nerfed the dog shit out of the only semi-original gun class in the game for the first time (and again with every patch since) it's obvious that Bungie has no intention to ever allow them to be good again.
-
Thesan is about the best. Still can be a little hit and miss though.
-
Been using Fusions since day1. I've used these bastards through their OP days, their nerf, their other nerf, the special ammo nerf, and their long awaited summertime buff, then TTK. I will say this, with the new 2.0 meta, fusion rifle damage is more of a gamble if anything.
-
I love FRs but they are like playing Russian Roulette. If you take a bad shot, forget it. But when you get that perfect shot it will one hit anyone.
-
At work: ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THE THESAN ROLLS ARE? :-)
-
Shot spread is pretty wild from range, i think they should've just given shot package to fusion rifles
-
Plan c this new plan c isn't the same as in year 1 other sound, looks different and it isnt so strong before patch 2.1
-
I main fusion rifles. They're not hitscan and the projectiles have travel time which is determined by the range stat on the weapon. You gotta lead your shots, control the recoil during the burst, and whatever you do don't use them like you're using a shotgun.
-
Check out the one I have on my hunter. I've been rocking it. The range is great. Damage falloff is unpredictable though.
-
i miss my fusion rifles i wish they were good again

They are only somewhat consistent when you use high stability and then still fail you 50% of the time...

Edited by Ankh: 2/9/2016 8:06:06 AMMassive fusion fan since day 1 Susanoo Ashravens flight Plan c Carefully selected perks to give lower stability but high range, helped by range finder. Vertical from kneecap up to the head shots.

Very inconsistent, agreed. Sometimes they wreck, sometimes they suck. I prefer the fast charging archetype for PvP, and the slow charging/high impact archetype for PvE. Braced Frame is the only perk that's really necessary, everything else is just a bonus. If it doesn't have Braced Frame, it gets immediately dismantled.

Edited by kiLLjoy: 2/9/2016 7:39:05 AMFor the past few weeks my go to secondary has been FRs. Check my hunter. They are so much fun to use and much more rewarding that the usual and easy shotgunning strats. I do agree with OP they are not consistent. You have to time the charge carefully and predict enemies movement well to secure your kills.

Just played two horrible matches with a lot of lag. Lag just renders your fusion useless. Complete RNG whether you get the kill or not..
-
They are iffy due to bungie's bad latency. Shpuld get better after the update
-
I got a decent roll on my dark blades spite, and that thing has incredible impact
-
Getting the hang of them again after setting them down in y1. What stats should I be looking to use? Check out the fusion on my Titan as well.
-
I love fusions but 25-50% of shots don't register when they clearly should.
-
One minute I can nail a mid range one hit with Plan C and the next it can't kill up close. But annoying
-
Telesto is great.
-
aim at there gut, that will ensure all bullets hit.
-
Finally used my y2 split shifter the other day. I was having to try and 3 shot people from conspiracy theory range. Needless to say it will be going in the vault for the off chance that they ever fix fusions again.

Edited by Meatonyourbuns: 2/8/2016 6:59:48 PMWell see way back in the day bungie gave them an accuracy nerf to keep them from "sniping". Unfortunately this along with the stability nerfs and the combination of client to client connection and non hit scan has led to an incredibly inconsistent shooting experience. Personally I'd just return their accuracy and apply heavy damage fall off after a point and give them a stability buff.

I have seen a resurgence of fusions lately in the crucible. They must be back. I tried the ashravens flight once a couple months ago bc the roll and stats looked awesome- but I had the same problem. It took multiple hits at close range to kill an enemy. Put it away and never looked back at year 2 fusions. Maybe one day again

I like to run the Plan C FR, and i have seen other people using the Telesto and the IB FR. But yeah, you need to know your game to use that weapon efficiently
