I started playing destiny in house if wolves. So when I started iron banner gave etheric light that could be used to max armor. You also had PoE that could get you gaurunteed max lvl gear. I'll admit, I only really play Destiny for the events. When I started it took me 4 iron banners to get all my characters up. 4 iron banners is 4 months. TTK has been out for how long? Look how many people are still way under 320. I'm not asking for free gear, but there should be guaranteed ways outside of raid to get there. There use to be, and I really don't think four months worth of event grinding should leave you praying to Rngus just to try and get above 310. Seriously Bungie. Iron Banner I'd light level enabled. We should be able to increase our light level on 3 pieces to 320 per iron banner. Especially since we have 10 pieces to upgrade now. That would be 4 months to max out all three characters through events.
