Digital Edition (Xbox One) crashing - unhelpful text screen directs back to bungie.net
I’ve bought both the Digital Collector’s Edition of Destiny (year 1) and the Taken King digital edition (year 2) for Xbox One, and haven’t had any problems with the digital files loading the game until now.
The title screen still loads just fine, but when I hit any button to continue on to the character select screen, the game crashes to a black screen with the following 8-bit text in the upper left-hand corner:
“Oops, something bad happened. Please wait a moment…"
"Thanks for your patience! Feel free to reboot your console and continue playing. Visit http://www.bungie.net for more information.”
I’ve rebooted my console multiple times, tried simply restarting the game, but to no avail. I would have thought that if it were a problem with the save file being corrupted, there would be some message that would pop up explaining that to be the problem. Any idea what this issue might be? Do I just need to uninstall and then re-install my Destiny files (All 35.5 GB of them)?

1 ReplyNo pop-up will be shown for corrupt files in any game. Check the files on the storage drive to see if any indicate corrupt or incomplete. This message also tends to show up due to out of sync cache files or if it is having trouble reading the file from the drive. After checking for corrupt files, clear the cache. Then shut down the console completely and unplug it for 10 minutes. Reboot the console after that and clear the cache again. Try launching the game again and see if that works. If not, deleting and reinstalling the files would be your next step. *** if you are using a portable drive, you could also try moving all the Destiny files to the local drive (or vise verse).
