Title. If you vote, please give me some reasons as to why I should or shouldn't. Keep in mind that I am a first-time Dark Souls player, and this would be my first game. Thank you for helping me in advance.

Edited by blindgeorgie: 12/31/2015 2:38:34 PMDS 2 is probably a better starter game than Demons (PS3 exclusive), DS 1(multi platform), or Bloodborne (ps4 exclusive.) I highly recommend all of these titles. DS 2 is set up like a spider. There is a central area and then hallways. You have choices of where to go that are clearer in DS 2 than in the other games. Go to the wikis for help understanding the stats. Just because you pick a Mage doesn't mean you're stuck with that style. It's not Diablo. You put the stat points where you want them. Don't neglect endurance and adp. You have ten save slots. Experiment with your toons. Learn to roll. Summon and be summoned. Use the big and small soapstone to help scout an area or a boss. You will die a lot. Enjoy.

If you haven't played a Souls game before then yes you should get it, DS2 is a good place to start, its considered easier than other Souls games but still offers a nice challenge, then go to Dark Souls 1, then Demon Souls. Sprinkle some Bloodborne in there while you're at it.

Edited by Flawless : 12/31/2015 7:57:41 AMYeah it's a good intro. Either that or Bloodborne Bloodborne is way better than 2

When I finally beat Fume Knight I jumped and screamed like a girl. I know it's just a game but the feeling of accomplishment when you finally overcome a difficult boss/area in DS is amazing.

Yeah, get it. It's pretty good. Not better than Dark Souls or Bloodborne though.
-
If you're able, get dark souls 1 instead. It's better.
-
If it's on sale go for it. You'll either love it and play the shit out of it or you'll hate it and be out of a couple bucks :^)

Expect a shit ton of raging.

I'm getting it. Great deal.
