Tips for a new player?

New tips from veterans for me? My style is currently sniping and scout rifle. Been having a lot of amazing games Don't say anything about my K/D. That doesn't matter. Just want helpful tips And for the record, Refer a Friend doesn't work since I console shared for TTK (Wallet stolen)

  • Don't use both scout and sniper. No need to double up on the long range. The Vanguard's 1000 yard stare is likely the best Legendary sniper (due to the amount of whining about it) But the Tao Hua Yuan from Crucible, and the Omolon Erienne both feel really good and i've seen many with good perks. ==Handcannon/Sniper weapon pairings are good for long range combat, with the HC having enough stopping power if someone rushes you. ==Scout/Shotgun is good if you like to get in closer yourself, many scouts can be hip fired well and since Shotties slow you down, you can pair it with a Mida to motor around better. If you can get your hands on one, try a Hereafter, also. Its zoom varies depending on if you stand or crouch, rewards someone who can make headshot after headshot, and has a chance to turn someone's exploded head into a (delayed) flashbang effect.

  • If you do normal crucible, don't even bother using fancy weapons. The khvostov 7g-02 is actually useful

    • I'd say make sure to learn about the weapons you're looking for as time goes on. Gunslinger is a great path and offers a Hunter exclusive sniper you can get by leveling up the Gunsmith rank that I highly recommend. At rank five you get an exclusive handcannon as well. Learn to aim and don't forget to keep your distance from enemies until you're comfortable. Also, learn to use your throwing knife well so you headshot everytime and when the time comes you can make a setup for unlimited throwing knives.
