The meta: Rip it up and start again

I have a proposal: rip up the meta and start again! 1.0 and make careful, incremental changes to PvP that are discrete from PvE. The ineptitude of the balancing and sandbox team in making huge changes to weapon types and failing to test them has led us to the point where the Crucible is boring and just not fun anymore. I think the fact that snipers are now the best option for a special weapon is largely due to the fact they have never really been altered much: yes, The Bungie team messed up Fusions and shotguns, amongst other weapon types! Fusion rifles used to be viable, now they have sunk to the depths of being unusable: the supposed 'buff' to fusion rifles in the last update ruined them: they now have no stability and cannot kill an enemy player unless you are very close - that is not what they were meant for! Shotguns used to be powerful and a solid choice, but have also been completely trashed: instead of dealing with the high-impact offenders like Conspiracy and Fellwinter's directly, they have sucked all the pleasure out of the weapon type as a whole. Now they are no fun to use at all. If this was a regular company and employees under-performed like this they would be on a warning or worse. I personally think the best meta, for all its failings, was the original one- it was certainly the most fun to play! Rather than going for incremental, slight adjustments, they listened to the forum bitching too much and this is what we get. My proposal: rip it up and start again! Reset weapon types to 1.0 and make sensible, incremental changes to balance the game. Without this Destiny won't be fun again until 2, but how many Guardians will wait around while the Crucible is this awful? Not enough, I reckon. I think the 10-year plan is in the balance... Edit 1: Thanks to you all for your constructive feedback. It seems that Bungie would benefit from taking a different approach to Crucible tuning.
