This isn't a one game occurrence. Anyone that regularly uses Fusion Rifles knows this pain deeply and often.
Want to fix shotguns? Stop nerfing them and start fixing Fusion Rifles.

Had the same thing. Took my most powerful fusion rifle (the trials one) and sneaked up behind a warlock in a control match. At 2 meters distance (the height of a guardian for people not familiar with the metric system) I shot him in the back. It took away his shield and half of his health, but he turned around and meeleed me to death. Fusions DO suck!

BUMP!!!

Although I agree with you people will always pick a wepeon which fires instantly over one that takes 5 seconds to fire
-
I'm wondering if they can't add the telesto perk as a random drop to the legendary fusion rifles. If it was possible to get a God roll combined with this perk it might make the type more viable.
-
fusion rifles are an have always been crap , hate that warlocks got them as class exclusive
-
They'll never get any of them right.
-
I got a 313 fusion rifle drop from the iron last time!! Awesome stats!! Was gonna infuse because fusion rifles are just not feasible since all the weapon changes!! Enter crucible!! First game with it!! 22-3!! This baby rocks!! Imma fusion rifle beast now!! All aboard the hype train!!!
-
This does happen a lot but then there r those really far range kills that just leave u like wtf fusion rifle r to inconsistent right now and should be buffed
-
I love fusions but this just happens way to often. I'm going to pick up the vortex, that thing can max out its aim assist with the vendor roll, hopefully that'll fix some of its problems.
-
Everything seemed so much better when fusion rifles and shotguns were on par with each other. A shotgunner could rarely down a fusion rifler back in the days. The good old times, when everything was balanced (for the most part).
-
I never liked them. I disliked using them from day one and hated being killed by them. Just not my play style.
-
Aim for the crotch. Demasculate him. They are still under powered though I agree.
-
I am 100% down for fixing fusion rifles. I still will use a fusion rifle in regular crucible but when it comes to trials or banner I am forced to use a shotgun or sniper fusions just don't have the same results although they would be my first choice if they were up to par with shotty and snips.

Edited by HELP1NG HAND: 12/2/2015 7:12:06 PMAgreed. Shotguns would be held in check as a close range weapon if the Fusion Rifles dominated the mid range as they are designed to. The problem is how to keep Fusion Rifles from turning back into the "problem child" that they used to be -the same problem child that shotguns currently are, but are (likely) about to be disciplined out of.

Edited by Sepp: 12/2/2015 6:57:15 PMExactly. If they made other guns relevant by buffing them, so many players wouldn't choose Shotguns all of the time. Fusion Rifles have better range so I know I would use the crap out of them. I try to now, but they fail so hard that I just resort to my Shotgun. Shotguns are bad enough in PvE, and now they're going to get worse. The base damage buff isn't going to do much when you have to literally sit on the enemies head to get optimal range.
-
This is so true. Shotties already had many limitations in PVE. They were basically good for taking down Captains blinded by a Helm St 14. I won't pretend to speak for PVP players but FR have shotties in range. A slight buff to charge rate and tightening of projectile cone seems balanced. One fires a bit faster than the other but has a bit less range. Voila! Everything still works in PVP and nobody had their favorite game style of play ruined.

The fusion rifle weapon type isn't really conducive to none dedicated server multiplayer. Lag will always play hell with that weapon type. I don't really get their vision for it either. The weapons range small enough that gap closers will punish a fusion rifle with shotguns. So now you need to predict players exiting doorways but the audio should warn players immediately to slow their roll at a doorway PvE I've never seen a reason to use a fusion.
-
nothing we say will get noticed any ideas will not even be considered, the only way to get noticed is to have the words "buff or nerf" in your sentence. Saying "tweek this specefic stat" wont get us anywhere. so no point in even complaining :(
-
What they need to do is buff the shotgun range so it's good in close quarter situations, but deeply compensate by nerfing player movement with shotguns, reload speed, and fire rate. This way shotguns are extremely competitive in close quarter combat, but player movement is too slow for players to run around maps using them like primary weapons. That's the big problem with shotguns for people. People don't want players using them like primaries. On a side note people are now using snipers as primaries. For fusion riffles they need to charge and fire quicker while having high hip fire recoil and low stability, but have same fire rate in medium ranges and controllable recoil in medium range.

I'm awful with FRs in PvP. So frustrating when I get lit-up by one, wondering why my Telesto never does that.
-
Fusion rifles are the most inconsistent secondary in the game. You cannot rely on them when you need them the most. For that reason, even after the shotgun debuff, I will stick with the ironwreath-D.
-
You have to aim low. I remember playing when the game came out fusions destroyed everything. I would get 25-30 kills just fusion because they were amazing. I'm not saying we have to make them like that but give them a fair shot
-
I would say wait until after the December weapons update before saying you'll never fix shotguns.
-
They require amazing rolls. Love my Thesan FR4

I agree, on that point blank once against the hunter however it recoiled to the right and you can see the blasts gather dust on the stairs.
