The two Exos looked at each other eye to eye as their hand cannons were placed on the counter. Banshee looked cool and collected while Cayde looked ready to pounce at a moments notice. The crowd watched in silence as the two stared at each other. Cayde was the first to speak. "Can I go first?" "Be my guest." Banshee nodded. Cayde grinned and spun the Ace swiftly on his finger for several seconds before quickly holstering. The crowd mumbled their impressions as Banshee did nearly the same except also spinning it in reverse before holstering. Cayde narrowed his eyes. "Already starting to show off I see." "It doesn't take much to beat that so I'm not surprised you think so highly of it." Cayde waved his finger at Banshee. "Now now we just started." He quickly pulled out the Ace, letting it spin several times in reverse and normally before purposefully missing the holster to have it spin once more into place. The display got a few more claps. "You were saying?" Banshee drew the Last Word quickly and spun it with an increased speed, effortlessly switching the ways it spun until he let it go. As it spun in the air, he guided it with his left pointer finger back into the holster. The crowd clapped a bit and gave mild expressions of impressedness. "Ok ok very nice." Cayde drew the Ace and spun it once more, switching the rotation and which hand he spun it from with ease. The crowd clapped as he holstered it. "I can do that too." "Well can you do this?" Banshee pulled the Last Word out and spun it, switching which finger on his right hand he spun it on while also changing its rotation. The crowd cheered a bit by the end of it. "Pffft. Childs play." Cayde replicated exactly what Banshee did except he also switched hands as well as fingers. The crowd grew more excited. "Really? How about this." Banshee's eyes went dark as he spun the Last Word. He threw it somewhat in the air for each rotation and hand switch before easily holstering it as his eyes dimmed back to life. The crowd gave an 'Oooooh' as the looked at Cayde. "... Well... Since you insist." Cayde's eyes went off as he spun the Ace. It glided between his fingers but not his hands unless they were close together. He holstered it and his eyes came back online. "Easy peasy." "You looked like you were in trouble there for a second." "Me? Nah you just worry about yourself old timer." He pulled the Ace out and pointed it at Banshee just a hair after Banshee had the Last Word trailed on him. Banshee gently cocked the gun. "A little slow there on the draw." "Now don't get to cocky." Cayde cocked his gun in emphasis. "You haven't won yet." Banshee spun the gun at the same time Cayde did. They watched each other closely before aiming once again and cocking. Cayde dry fired the gun while Banshee cocked and pressed the hammer back forward just as fast. The crowd leaned in a bit. "You shouldn't dry fire, it ruins the gun faster." Banshee said with slight annoyance. "Really? I haven't even got to use it against a Hive Spawn yet." He holstered the Ace. "You know I'm starting to think your jealous of me." "Of you?" Banshee slowly holstered the gun. "Yea, it's blatantly obvious. Your copying everything that I do, just so you can impress me. I'm touched really." He wiped away a fake tear. "More like you were copying me." "Excuse me but I went first." "So?" "You still copied me though." "Cayde. I've been working on guns since long before you could control your first piston." He gestured towards Cayde's waist. "And your telling me I learned from you?" The crowd covered their mouth and laughed as Cayde recoiled a bit. He blinked and grinned. "Well if you must know, I've learned how to use THAT early on so just because you came first doesn't mean you do it better." Several Hunters laughed and slapped Cayde on the back. Banshee gave a grunt. "If you do it better, then how come I see so many disappointments coming from your barracks." Several Guardians howled in laughter as Cayde blinked. "You sneaky son of a... Ok that was good, that was good." He quickly drew the Ace in sync with Banshee. "But can you really better than me." "Judging by the discussions I hear in the lounge, very much so." More Guardians laughed as Cayde's eye twitched and grinned. He holstered the Ace and willed his gauntlets off. "Ok Banshee, gloves are off." Banshee held up his hands. "They were off to begin with." "Then it's time for me to step it up." "I'd like to see that happen, just remember you can practice when I put you to work Monday morning." "Not even in your dreams Bansh. Not even."
