UPDATED: 100th S.A.B.E.R. Completion Still No Helmet. Seriously Bungie? (<1% drop rate)
I just finished my 100th run of the SABER strike and I still haven't gotten the damn helmet to drop. That is trending towards less than 1% drop rate. Seriously Bungie? I should not have to do the strike that many times. Out of the 70 runs I have only gotten the machine gun to drop twice and the helmet has dropped ZERO times. I know for a fact that you can get the strike gear to drop on your character more than once. What is the deal? How many times did it take you other guardians to get it?
EDIT: Thanks for all the feedback. Everyone says to play the level 36 strike, but from the comments in this post it seems the heroic playlist is the best option.
EDIT: So today 10/17 I ran 16 straight heroic strikes and mostly played Valus Ta'Arc (4/16). I never once played S.A.B.E.R. strike. Wtf is wrong with the playlist? Is that strike not in there? This is the second time I have gone on a long streak and have not played it. Secondly, I used 15 three of coins and only got 1 exotic engram to drop. Out of all 16 of those strikes I got ZERO strike specific loot to drop. I was also using my hunter. It seems I could play this game until the world ends and I will never get the damn helmet. Bungie, is wearing me down.
EDIT: 10/18, I have now completed SABER strike ~100 times and the helmet has NOT dropped. We have reached the <1% drop rate. This is fuking dumb.

I must be lucky, got the helm at 297 with really good perks and I got the LMG with hidden hand at 292. The only strike that has yet to give me anything is sunless cell :(

Got the devouring maw atleast 5 times in about 25 strikes. It's the exclusive ive gotten the most so far with does not bow from taniks Over 100 taniks for 1 cape and 4 does not bow also never saw heavy machine gun in taniks yet

It's RNG. You can't complain when players went 10 months raiding 10+ times a week to get a Gjallarhorn and never get one. I got the helmet from that strike after 4 completions and have gotten 5 more since.

Ran it a few times, the right number escapes me and still nothing, was happy to get the vex arm from the psn exclusive strike though But i hate these unbalanced looking helmets, thought the prison helmet was ugly for doing it and then seen that helmet was like looks sick then noticed the spikes and kinda stopped wanting it lol

You dont need to run any level specific i have seen strike specific items drop on the normal strike levels. Not in a playlist.

3 RepliesI haven't done it nearly as much but still quite a bit and no helmet for me too. However I have received the strike gauntlets from the shield bros strike on THREE separate occasions, ALL while doing the strike on my warlock. Makes me wonder if the chances to get the armor are better on a class which cannot use it.....
