The Road to King's Fall
So I think I've been yakking too much during quests and something of the story has disconnected in my mind. We fought Oryx in story mission, Eris came and took something from his sword and vowed not to fail in what she knew she had to do (relevant?), then we have a series of mop up missions on various Taken War quests. This led to The Road to King's Fall in which we go to the ascendant realm and for reals kill Oryx. But at what point in the story did the guardians become aware that we didn't kill him the first time and needed to go finish him off?

At one point she says oryx is slain in this realm... you must go kill him in his realm or finish what you've started (or something to this effect), not a direct quote. I always listen to the vendors when they talk, their dialogue changes to what you are doing or have done. She says to me now "oryx is defeated, but the taken still remain" since I have beat kings fall.
