Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....it's ok...
Lets start off by saying, I love this gun lmao. It's fun to look at, and to use. A giant lazer that can crit for almost 40k? Yes please.
I notice a lot of people bitching about it already...and all I can think is, Bungie has been working their asses off making this DLC and everything in it. Now, just because the mythical SS doesn't instantly 1 shot every boss, or hold as much ammo as a machine gun, it's garbage? Spare me...if you suck with it, move on to a new gun. Don't like it? Don't use it..
Love it Bungie...keep it up.
Edit: I respect all opinions. I'm not here to tell you, you HAVE to use this gun. Nor am I bashing the use of other guns. Do NOT reply here, bashing the SS or anyone who uses it. Don't be a prick, and just enjoy the game! Smh

1 ReplyTo me it's crappy in the same way that the Queensbreaker's Bow was crappy. The qb did about the same damage as a sniper from about the same range as a sniper. The difference is the qb also had to charge like a fusion rifle. So what was the advantage of using the queensbreaker instead of a regular sniper? Not only was it slower and less powerful but it also took up an exotic slot for basically no reason. That's the problem I have with the sleeper as well. Yeah it does a lot of damage but so does a rocket launcher or a hmg, but I can use those weapons without charging them and they won't take up an exotic slot, so what's the point? It's just another year 2 gimmick gun that will collect dust in the vault. Just another reminder of the fact that all my hard earned year 1 weapons got replaced with turds...

Needs either a larger mag or give it more frequent drops. Other than that, no complaints. (Also, fix it's existing ammo glitch)

Decided to use my SS for daily heroic today. Made quick work of Ta'aun and Baxx, the two taken majors you fight before you can pass thru the portal to face Oryx. Killed them before they ever made it more than 3 step from the portal. I think it took 4 precision shots to down each, iirc. Then a couple mags into Oryx's face and it was shadow realm time. Used SS in shadow realm to drop the phalanxes he spawns in... Line em up and take out 2 with one shot! Then used a combo of fusion grenades, shot gun, and super to kill Oryx. It was difficult getting a shot on him with SS in the shadow realm, cqb tactics worked better.

This thing tore up the restorative mind like no one's business. It may not be the new ghorn, but it certainly is a beast. Definitely using it for every fight that's not Oryx or twins. EDIT: With ruin wings it was heavy ammo aplenty.

4 RepliesI've read that it's not at its full potential yet. You have to infuse it with a special pill that we buy from Tess Everest for silver. You put it up your butt and wait 6 hours for a Warsat to drop on the dreadnought. When it does the pill will stimulate your sleeping butthole and cause full auto firing and explosive rounds. Good luck -blam!-ers.

I agree. I think it's not over or underpowered. It IS great for some bosses over others though. It does great damage against the Warpriest but not against Golgoroth. It's extremely fun to use and definitely NOT the next Ghorn(THANK GOD)

In case you're all wondering you need to infuse this beast of a weapon in order to get you're 40k+ shots off. Trust me its worth it. Not to mention the gun may not even be complete yet.. Which would make it that much more awesome!!

Though it is a little underwhelming, but it certainly isn't garbage lol, that we can agree on. Plus once I saw someone kill a Sunbreaker with one shot of that SS to the head, that was terribly entertaining lol. Though what shames the SS is that it was overhyped to be a successor to the Jellyhorn, that it had a long and effortful questline... when all we had to do was gather RNG parts, race atop a transport, find more parts through Warsat events, wait a day for Banshee to 'repair' the core, do a armored mob spam strike, and you get the Sleeper. All it is is fluffed gametime, not a challenging set of tasks to earn the Sleeper. Now if this is just the start as people say it isn't yet finished, then Bungie could redeem this gun with better tasks to futhur develop it.
