Ok so I was doing the "Last Rites" mission for the 2 Deathsinger grimoire cards (something you guys should do btw) and I started the mission as 303 light. I brought my icebreaker along for the ammo recharge.
With my raid sniper, I was doing ~6K per crit on each deathsinger. When I switched to IB (which is 170 and brings me down to 288 light), I decided to get a crit just for the hell of it and I was shocked at me doing +6K against them.
Why is this? Lower light level, yet I'm doing more damage than me at my highest light level? Can anyone explain?

What level was the mission? If you were doing it on normal it's probably only about lvl 30, at which point the icebreaker is still 100% effective and did more damage because it has more impact than the raid sniper. Even though the raid sniper has more light, damage is capped because of the low level of the mission.

Ice breaker is a high impact sniper rifle, the raid sniper is a medium/low impact sniper. Also, the mission was probably 180-200 light, meaning icebreaker would only have a slight damage reduction
